Right....

 

I'm doing something at a client and they want to automate a load of w2k3 server reboots.

 

Not I've scripted the reboot, but I want to find a way of checking if the server has come back up - but I don't want to just ping it because that isn't enough to prove the server is back

 

Is there anyway that I can check whether a service or something is running from a remote machine using either vbs or a batch script? Ideally if it is running I'd like a return code of 0 and if not a return code of 1...

 

Anybody know this sort of s***?
