Just back from my first ever visit - excellent.

 

Was particularly good to be there in the last few weeks given their sporting performances (rugby defeat by Aussies, cricket near-whitewash by Emgland) and Olympics (beaten by everyone ). And I thought that Saffers were all sports mad - amazing that we couldn;t find anyone who took it seriously at all.

 

Anyway, beautiful country and f*** me how cheap is it?? Wouldn't be particularly confident in the long-term future of the country but intend to enjoy it again as soon as poss, whilst it still lasts.

 

Found some great restaurants in Knysna, Oudtshoorn & Cape Town/Camp's Bay. Did all the usual touristy stuff - Robben Island, Cape Point, Table Mountain, Game Drive, Ostrich/Monkey/Cheetah/Whales/Elephant World, Penguins etc.
