stag do

The thing is, I'm best man for my mate's wedding which takes place in a few weeks time. He's a man utd season ticket holder. For 12 months all sorts of ideas have been thrown about for the stag do - the Dam, Hamburg, Copenhagen...all sorts. Every plan has been knocked into the long grass for one reason or another. Everyone was resigned to having a do in Liverpool but no matter, it'll be sound. Then last week the groom has announced that he has already booked a hotel for the stag do for next friday night, with a subsequent do tba back in Liverpool the next day. It turns out that pretty much the only ones booked into the hotel are a handful of fellow man utd season ticket holders he goes the match with, and me, and the hotel he has chosen is...The Travelodge, Old Trafford.

FFS.

Now, naturally, I pointed out that this plan would be well suited to being stuck firmly up his ar*se - and that I'd lay on a Cup Final day all dayer for all and sundry to get in on for the next day instead (y'know, all the lads and in laws and family and all that gear - 50 or so) and him and his manc mates can go and do whatever they want to do at old trafford. However, this has resulted in a big moody kick off, with him and his missus giving me down the banks - its his choice and his party and his special day as best man i have to go along with it no matter what. Its now moved on to a sulky mexican stand off. I've suggested we sit down for a scoop to sort things out (in The Sandon?) but to no avail. It's all gone quiet over there except for a message that he won't be out for the cup final after all cause he'll be knackered from the night before, so that idea has fallen on its ar*se now too.

What say you? Would you go? Have you ever heard a sh*tter idea for a stag do (I dunno, maybe on the "Fairies Accross The Mersey" boat or something like that)?
