Can't see Rafa going with that again

 

It was a gamble that just about came off with Crouch's flick for the Torres goal but we are much more comfortable in a 4-2-3-1

 

Gerrard's ill discipline on the left was at its worst last night particularly in the first half which just compounded our nervous start

 

I think Crouch will have to settle for a bench role again.

Almost glad he did it and we got away with it really - means we might not see it again.

 

I can see the logic, go at Arsenal and finish the game early on but we started so poorly the whole system fell apart.

Babel said he wasn't fit enough to start so we had to change it really or play Riise or Benayoun there.

I could see the logic of starting Crouch but he should have dropped Alonso and played Masherano and Gerrard in central midfield.

I would have played Riise on the left.

Yeah it was probably 99 games without having three players in the team with consecutive vowels in their names or something. He's probably raging he never got asked the question so that he could give the smile.

I think the logic was right - in that Crouch has been excellent in his last two starts against Arsenal (four in two) and he was superb in the league on Saturday.

 

You couldn't really drop Gerrard/Torres/Kuyt, so they had to be fitted in because of what they bring to the side in the big games.

 

And to be fair, all four delivered last night despite us looking a tad disjointed in the first twenty minutes or so.

I'm glad that he started crouch. He did well upfront and still showed us a little what he has. It paid of for a while but don't want to see it being played to much though
