My missus has bought her mum a Gucci watch for her 60th off eBay and is now having a stress about whether or not it's a fake, despite me giving her plenty of warnings about it before actually buying it.

 

Anyone know how you can tell if it's genuine or not? And is it true that if you take it to a jewellers to check and it's a fake then they smash the f***** up in front of you? That's what she's heard, so she's unwilling to go down that route.
