The Killers will headline this summer's Reading and Leeds festivals.

 

The Brit Award nominees from Las Vegas are the first band to be announced for the festival line up. The event takes place over the weekend of 22-24 August.

 

The Killers last played at the festivals in 2005, shortly after the release of their debut album Hot Fuss.

 

Last year, they headlined the V festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire.

 

More headline bands will be announced by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 this evening, 31 March.
