Pistols boss leads jungle line-up

Former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren is among the 10 contestants taking part in the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

He will be joined in the jungle by former Catatonia singer Cerys Matthews, ex-Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson and 1970s supermodel Janice Dickinson.

Others include football pundit Rodney Marsh and chef John Burton Race.

Producers are promising the worst bushtucker trials yet when the series begins on Monday.

Former EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman, Changing Rooms' Anna Ryder Richardson, PR guru Lynne Franks and Jason 'J' Brown from boy band Five complete the line-up.

'Most terrifying'

On the prospect of being faced with his worst fear in the jungle - snakes - McLaren said: "I should imagine I'm going to act with extreme trepidation."

He added all he knew about the series was that "one of my ex-Sex Pistols, Johnny Rotten, was on the show once upon a time".

John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, quit the show when he took part in 2004.

Executive producer Richard Cowles said the stakes would be raised for this series. "We have a great cast in place, but they have little idea of what they have let themselves in for."

"The challenge is above and beyond anything faced by their predecessors. This year's trials are the most terrifying yet and the surprises will come thick and fast and from the moment their journey begins," he said.

Former Busted band member Matt Willis was crowned King of the Jungle last year, with singer Myleene Klass as runner-up. Actor and singer Jason Donovan was third.
