I was driving home from work last night at about 7.15 pm on the M62. Anyway, a police car came behind me and pulled me up for speeding, I was doing 84 mph. I accepted this and gave him my licence etc, the problem was it did not have the picture part to it. I also gave him my insurance documents and a couple of other pieces of identification.

Anyway, it transpired that my car, which I only bought a couple of months ago was involved in a drive off about 7 or 8 months ago at a garage. I explained this could not possibly be me etc etc and then the officer started getting all ar'sey with me saying he was not convinced by me and thought I was lying about my identity because there was no picture licence. I was astonished, told him to ring my missus or family, or follow me home so I could show him my passport etc

The t*** had my car recovered, for which I had to pay for this morning. 'Arrested' me for the speeding and took my to Kirby police station, within twenty minutes of getting there (about 8pm) they had identified I was who I say I was using finger prints but they locked me in a cell and left me there till 1am this morning, before releasing me, with no money, no bank card, no car and no mobile phone in the middle of kirby at 1am.

I have never been one for police bashing, but how the f'ckin ell can they justify locking people up all night because they have not got the picture part of their driving licence.

Its a f'ckin disgrace, honestly. I still can not believe it happened. No wonder people f'ckin hate them the way some of them behave
