So, here?s the thing. I hear the term modern man used all the time and I wonder how quickly it has caught on and how many are prepared to admit to being one. Modern men seem to be proud that they are modern men although those who aren?t just see them/us as big Jessies who need to Man Up FFS.

What makes a modern man though? Is it someone who takes a pride in his appearance? Someone who voluntarily does what in the past have been seen as a woman?s duties?

My wife and I both do the cooking.

I tend to do the ironing as I do it better!

I have a very hands-on approach to raising our first child ? I change all the nappies and she does the feeding (my breasts aren't as succulent)

We take it in turns to bring each other breakfast in bed at the weekends?

I have a morning and evening skincare routine.

And I use hair product.

The flipside,

I love DIY and have spent the last 6 months renovating our house to try and get everything done for the baby coming (4 weeks ago)

Give me a couple of cold beers,a bit of sunshine and a lawnmower and I am in heaven,

If there is football on everything else gets put on hold. In fact if there is sport on at all everything else gets put on hold.

I play poker with the boys once a month and watch as much of it as possible on telly

And I love scratching my balls.

So, am I a modern man, a normal man or a big Jessie?

What are you and what do you do to show it?
