Went to see John Cooper Clarke last night

I never ever thought I'd encourage anyone to read poetry but I ended up doing it last night. In between some very funny old and new material John Cooper Clarke cracked jokes that were taken directly from music hall acts. Its a long time since I've heard anyone use the word "dago" or tell the kind of "Jewish" jokes he did. He could have been the freakshow act on the Wheeltappers and Shunters club TV show from the early 70s.

 

Didnt know he was a United fan either.
