Mmm..not sure knowing Rafa but I agree that at the moment Masher looks a cert to start after being in our best performers every game since he arrived.

it'll either be gerrard on the right, dropping pennant with mascherano and alonso in the middle, OR gerrard replacing alonso and playing pennant on the right of a 4-4-2 with Crouch and Kuyt up front...

I would say this is likely alright.

 

Alonso played very well for most of the game yesterday though.. I really dont like to have a player of his ability on the bench... but if the competition for places says so then so be it... however Alonso would come on for sure and get decent pitch time anyway...

Isnt it 7 subs in the CL if thats right there will be room for Kewell.

 

Id go with Crouch and Kuyt too, we need them both Kuyt's workrate will be needed to stop Pirlo dictating things. And i think Crouch will cause them all sorts of problems.

 

Probably will be Gerrard on the right with Alonso and Mascherano holding, think Gerrard can get at Maldini if we leave them 1 on 1.

 

Looks like Zenden is going to play on the left although theres also the option of Arbeloa / Riise down the left.
