Front page of yesterday's Telegraph - Nancy wosserchops has let slip that the Swede has signed for a Prem club for next season...

Do we need another reason to dislike Chelsea?

Yeah he was a success in Italy, but wasn't one of his main faults with England, not coping with different tactics thrown at him, by the opposition.

What would he think with some of the formations that Rafa, Wenger and old red nose could use

After talking to a couple of Chelsea mates over this last week, then reading this morning papers, we have Terry refusing a new contract unless he always automatically gets the the same wage as the highest earner at the club, Lampard privately voicing unrest and a possible move to Barca, would Joe Cole stay there if his two bezzie mates left?, Wayne Bridge has also moaned about life and lack of constant games, despite apearing more this season than usual. Yeah I can see exactly why they would get Sven in and not for his tactical prowess, more he made those players who they are by consistantly using them for England and they are his mates, which would soften the blow of Jose going and keeping those players keeps the Chelsea/England Stamford Bridge fan very happy.

He's far better than the tabloid image of him suggests. His main failing with England was that he failed to solve the issue he rightly identified in the fear of failure; he tried to go ultra soft, put people at ease, but it didn't work. Tactically, he didn't do much of difference to that which many many other coaches would have.

I agree with that. His main problems were a fear to make the big decisions (ie dropping Lampard and Beckham during the World Cup) and conservative substitutions in the big games which surrendered the initaitive to the opposition (eg Brazil and Portugal in 2004).

He has had success at many levels across europe and may be technically better than alot of people give him credit for, even though he is known as the luckiest coach in Europe, but, I still don't think that is the main reason that Chelsea may sign him. Jose appears more technically adept and not afraid to take chances to win games more so then Sven did while he was England manager. It was obvious Sven played players so if England lost the papers could say that he played our best players and they lost, it reduced the critcism fired at him, he could react the same way to Romans money and that baying crowd at the bridge.

It would be f*cking great if Sven takes over at Chelsea.

Yeah, I must admit, I LOL'd when Kahnee told me yesterday.

sven is better than almost every england manager we've had [excepting bobby robson maybe].

At least with him in charge we qualified easily every time - not like before him...........or after him it seems

Could be claimed he's had a lot better players at his disposal than his predecessors.

I think that's a myth, the whole golden generaton thing

Looking at it realistically, the forwards are not as good as the previous Shearer-Sherringham-Fowler generaton, Bobby Robson had so much more in midfield with the likes of Robson, Hoddle, Gascoigne, Barnes, Waddle; only Gerrard is in that company. The only one who had a worse team was Taylor
