Audley Harrison

What a disappointment Audley Harrison has turned out to be. After he won the Olympic gold medal, we all thought we might have a British world champion in Harrison. Then he mysteriously spent his time fighting a succession of no-hopers.

 

Tonight Michael Sprott poleaxed Harrison with a tremendous left-hook in the first round. Audley did not get up for a long time. Before the fight Audley had said "Michael Sprott is in my way. Nothing personal but, on Saturday night, I'm going to go through him, simple as that."

 

I doubt if we will ever see Harrison in a boxing ring again. All very sad.
