Guy_Incognito Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Just got through after only about 5 minutes of hammering redial, which is just about a record for me. Anyway, there's only restricted views left in the Kop, apparently.
Guest PaulMcC Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I went up at 6.15 this morning. Queue was half way down Skerries Road. Got 4 together in 208. Was back in town for about 10. Not too bad. Been up there waiting for tickets a lot longer than that before.
Spike Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 got mine. Upper anny rd. (the stand, not the forumite)

kop205 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 (edited) Just got through after only about 5 minutes of hammering redial, which is just about a record for me. Anyway, there's only restricted views left in the Kop, apparently. Which seats on the Kop are restricted view? Is it something to do with cameras? Can't be the extra large advertising hoardings cos they take seats out for that don't they? Got there just before 5am, queue was by flagpole corner, got away just after 9. 5 together in Block 208. Like Paul McC said, been longer days than that - was 6 hours in the queue for the Barc semi in 2001, was literally halfway down the back of the mainstand at 7am that day, though as someone reminded me today that is because they just did a general sale and restricted it to two per person. On a sidenote, anyone know what time the internet sales started today. Fella by me reckoned 6.30. Which would grate a little, I must admit, if true. Edited February 15, 2007 by kop205
scoose Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Kop 203 - only took 30 minutes of refresh in the website

kop205 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 (edited) why did you go so early when you are dead cert to get a ticket anyway? Cos wanted to be as central as possible in the Kop, with all 5 together. Wasn't sure what time they'd be gone by so played it safe. As it is 208 is pretty much as wide as you can get, though don't know what would have been available earlier. Plenty there before me. First people were there at midnight apparently! I have mine in block 205. cant wait! Cos wanted to be as central as possible in the Kop, with all 5 together. Wasn't sure what time they'd be gone by so played it safe. First people were there at midnight apparently! at least your in the kop mate. its one huge sing along on these nights as for midnight!! bloody hell! there is no way i would do that when i know i can get one anyway!!! having said that i have a st in the center of the kop and get mine automatically. I may feel differently if i didnt have one.

I may feel differently if i didnt have one. See, that is it for me. I share a s/t in 205 and my Dad takes that for cup games, but knowing how good a spec it is I want to get as close to it as I can. More than happy just to be in Kop in fairness, as was in the Anny Rd end for Roma and Barca in 2001 and, great nights that they were, I did have a little pang of jealousy that I wasn't in the Kop! Only times I've not been in there for a European night. Midnight was crazy though. Some woman dropped her sons off, then her and a mate came and swapped with them at 5 am. people there with the most horrible, dirty duvets and all sorts to keep them warm! Not sure I would get there that time, if I knew it would guarantee me pretty much my normal spec (which I don't reckon it would anyway, as most seem to be s/t seats that people take up automatically).

I was on there at 8.10am and you couldn't buy one unless you were a ST holder with 3 credits or whatever it was... About 8.15am the barca match vanished from the screen and reappeared at about 8.30am at which point I got my 4 in 102!!!

About 8.15am the barca match vanished from the screen and reappeared at about 8.30am at which point I got my 4 in 102!!! Fair enough. Was just going on what someone in the queue said but there were all kinds of loons there at that time in the morning so didn't know whether or not to believe him. Having said that, I think you could make a case for saying that online and phone sales should start maybe a couple of hours after sales at the ground. Everyone would still get a ticket who qualifies, but it does kind of reward slightly those who got there ridiculously early and waited for hours in the cold in that they'd get a marginally better spec. And yes, I know not everyone can get to the ground which is why I'd say the delay should only be a couple of hours - but after all, not everyone has a debit or credit card that they can use online or over the phone so for some it isn't just a case of choosing to go down there, it is their only option. Might also be a happy medium in terms of still respecting the rights and status of OOTers whilst also giving something back to the locals. Know that plenty will disagree, so not looking for a big debate, especially as all who qualified should have got a ticket for somewhere today, just a thought really and I'm sure whatever way it is done will never be perfect.
