Points or placing?

The table is a relative type of thingy. In terms of progress, are points or placings more important to you?

 

This season we are on 50 points compared with last,which we gathered 80 at the end. Looks like we may be a bit stretched to get that total this season. Does that mean we have gotten worse even if we manage 3rd?

Would that mean three points off the top at this stage? That would certainly be a massive improvement in my books. Cant remember the last time we were 3 points of the top in Feb?

seriously challenging for the title is more important and that goes hand in hand with points if the teams above are playing well.

 

4th place is always going to be the absolute minimum as long as it gives us a CL place the following season.

Well, if we're not going to win it, we need to finish in the top four at least for obvious reasons...

 

After that though, all I'm bothered about is how close we are to 1st. Whether we finish 3rd or 4th for example this season doesn't make a great deal of difference to me.
