One of my oldest Spanish friends

Javier has been given less than a month to live.

 

Cancer.

 

He was told early last week that he had cancer and that it was curable. He's just phoning everyone now to tell them that they have diagnosed it as terminal and in an extremely advanced stage.

 

This is an ox of a man, Basque. Footballer player. Never had an illness in his life. Great guy - I've known him for 18 years and I've never seen him angry nor heard him complain.

 

2 lads same age as my girls.

 

He wants to get drunk tonight and is inviting everyone for dinner.

 

I'm absolutely gutted.
