Dee Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I seem to find myself in more and more difficult situations with different people with depression - I seem to be a beacon for people who are having problems and they tell me it all.I hear about the depths of darkness of depression and the agony of self-cutters Not all are friends but acquaintances or friends of friends etc.. I'm not equipped to handle these situations, so my appeal is for help on how to cope with such admissions - i.e. what to say? how not to offer solutions but to listen etc? I mean there's only so many 'umms, and ahhs' and hugs and nods of heads and questions about practical things... What else do people say in these situations??? (i'm in no mood for sarcastic replies BTW)
