A conundrum

About 18 months ago, someone deposited a sizeable sum of monies into our company bank account. We assumed it was for work carried out at first. But nothing we've done or no invoice sent resembles the figure. Nothing's happened since and nobody, be it the person or our bank has claimed it. We can't get in touch as there's no specific individual responsible, it's just appeared.

What should be the course of action?

Ps. It is a fairly substantial sum.
