Catching Liars Out

Belter today: I admired the watch of the guy I was talking to (a taxi driver who is known as "the liar"), and he told me it was an Omega Seamaster which he'd paid £100 for but was worth £1700 on Ebay.

 

Told him I've got an Ebay business selling watches, and one of my specialities is Omega Seamasters, then that I've bought and sold 30 or more over the last 3 years, that it was worth £600 tops and I didn't believe he got it for £100..he wasn't happy.

 

 

On a course a few years ago: going around the table doing introductions. Girl on my right tells everyone she's done scuba diving to 35 feet using a twinset oxygen tank. My turn...I'm a scuba diving instructor, it's metres not feet and air not oxygen. Red face.
