Some of us reds need to take a step back and avoid falling into the trap of "football only started with onset of the premier league".It should only be league appearances that count, not premier league.Or does whatever went before not count?

We have run numerous stories about Carra's rise up the total and League appearances rankings - and will no doubt do some on SteG once he gets high enough up

O, how I hate the fact that everything before 1992 is non-important.

I agree, what a pointless stat. All time appearance records are OK, but appearance records begining from an arbitary point in time is less than meaninglesss

Exactly. Not as if it's been that hard to notice either

For those of you moaning - Steven Gerrard tomorrow will enter LFC' s all-time Top 57 in terms of League appearances for the club, drawing level with inter-war right-half Tom Morrison

Not quite such a thrilling stat....

But more meaningful.

Just because sky like to make a big deal out of statistics carefully bounded to make them sound more important than they are, doesn't mean everyone else does.

I can't see anyone ever getting near Carra!!!

Mmmm, Yesterday was Carra's 428 overall appearance for Liverpool. Almost half way to Callaghan's 857 appearances :o

Callaghan also holds the record for most League appearances at 640

Carra is getting close to Callaghan's European Record of 89 appearances. He's currently on 81 :hmm:

Stevie is two and half years younger than Jamie and I'm fairly confident he'll play more games for the club than Jamie C over the next few years.

It will be interesting to see where they end up in the All Time Stats. Regardless, they are Both Legends and I hope they add that missing piece of Silverware to their collection :D
