Fine dining in London?

bringing a party of 8 to a restaurant in London in about 4 weeks time. Was thinking about the Ivy as it's really the only one I know over there, is there anywhere else. At meetings in Earls Court that day so somewhere in that vicinity would be good.

Can anyone confirm if the Ivy is more hype than substance, which is what someone's told me.
