Jezzman Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 but what's changed since yesterday?last week?last month?your patience has suddenly snapped now.are you on? Kewell was interviewed by 9 MSN News the other day and my general worries and thoughts on Kewell's injury problems This is the brief interview with 9 MSN News. Dale Paget: Do we know what's wrong? You've had a foot injury, but the groin is still the main problem, right? Harry Kewell: The foot's sore, yeah, but it's more my groin. I've got a few appointments to try and sort out my injuries. I've just been down to Melbourne to see some specialists and I've got a few more to see in Sydney. Dale Paget: Basically a lot of visits to doctors? Harry Kewell: Yeah, a lot of doctors visits. Obviously I don't get a lot of free time working and that ? Liverpool have sent me over here to get some more second opinions and that is what I intend to do. Dale Paget: Has it ever flashed through your mind that maybe you can't get through this? Harry Kewell: Yeah. It always feels like that but you can't look at that situation. You've always got to be positive. I'm not the only person to go through these situations. You've got to think about it. You've got to take time and have a strong family behind you as well, which I do. My club has supported me throughout the whole thing. I'd just like to get back to footy fitness. Dale Paget: There are many wonderful surgeons in the UK ? why come to Australia? Harry Kewell: I've been everywhere in Europe. We've got to a point where we'd try Australia because Australia's got the best surgeons in the world. Dale Paget: So you have no idea when you'll be able to play for Liverpool? Harry Kewell: At this present time I don't know. I don't want to think about that because every time you set targets you can fail them and you just get more miserable. If you leave it open you can be positive. I'll just take my time and get back that way. Dale Paget: Have we still got the best of Harry to come? Harry Kewell: Yeah for sure. You haven't seen the best of me for a while because of what I've been going through. I'm looking forward to making a full recovery and taking it from there. Dale Paget: Stories about you on ninemsn are very popular with readers. Do you ever get used to that kind of attention? Harry Kewell: It's very nice. Hopefully it's because they care and they just want to see me back playing. That's why I want to get fit and I want to show the people what I'm capable of, and what Australia is capable of producing.
Boca Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Kewell was interviewed by 9 MSN News the other day and my general worries and thoughts on Kewell's injury problems When was that interview done? It sounds like he won't be back for a long time if he's looking for a surgeon to sort out the injury.
Guest FrankH Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 In my book it's not Garcia who should replace him but Gonzalez. On the other hand, would you swap the goals from Garcia against Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, Betis, Anderlecht, Leverkusen in 2005 for anything Kewell has to offer? And did I mention Kewell's injured all the time Hasnt proven anything yet, but lets get rid of Kewell before we know if Gonzalez is the real deal or not..
Jezzman Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Hasnt proven anything yet, but lets get rid of Kewell before we know if Gonzalez is the real deal or not.. What has Harry Kewell proved? The main thing is that he gets injured all the time. We all know just how good he is, but that doesn't help when he's NOT playing.... When was that interview done? It sounds like he won't be back for a long time if he's looking for a surgeon to sort out the injury. It's from yesterday: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=143325
Alonso Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hasnt proven anything yet, but lets get rid of Kewell before we know if Gonzalez is the real deal or not.. And the only way we're gonna find out if he is the real deal is by playing him and not a game here and there but give him a decent run in the side.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 This thread is f***ing bulls***, f*** off with your vitriolic b****x. A fit HK is EXACTLY what this team needs right now, fingers crossed he will be back on track next month.

Guest AnfieldGrass Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Temper temper. I'm sick of stupid posts after a bad result, especially ones that have nothing to do with anything about anything. Harry did not even play ffs.

Harry did not even play ffs. Who the f*** said anything about the Everton game???? Read the post ffs, it's my general view on Kewell and has absolutely NOTHING to do with the bad result the past weekend. Get a f***ing grip!
downunder Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 (edited) I'm sick of stupid posts after a bad result, especially ones that have nothing to do with anything about anything. Harry did not even play ffs. This quote is from an email from Bernie Mandic to me last week. Interesting what he asasy about Harry's fitnes, no metion of him being in Aus (I am not saying he isn't here mind you)... Apologies for not getting back to you earlier but the transfer window had me quite busy – not at all in anyway with Harry I am pleased to say. No club apart from LFC is an option for Harry. As long as they really want him he will be there. No idea when he will be playing again – up to the LFC medical staff. Edited September 11, 2006 by downunder
Guz Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I thought at the time his injury in the WC would be a huge blow to us. He keeps posession better than Garcia, Riise or Warnock and has experience in the league unlike Gonzalez or Aurelio. We've missed him so far this season imo.
Molby Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 you cant get rid of a player on a contract until that contract finishes, unless you sell him but he won't pass the medical so we cant sell him end of
Jezzman Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 I believe Rafa wanted to offload him over summer, but who wants an injured Kewell who demands such high wages? No, the only route for the whole HK saga, is to get him fit and doing on the pitch what he did for most of last season. If he excels, may save his hide. If he does ok, and is fit, maybe another club will come knocking. But nothing can or will be done until the end of the season so simply throwing about hateful comments will not help or change the situation one bit. Edit: If there is a player that deserves criticism it's Diao. At least Harry is rated by the boss, whereas Salif was not even given a squad number, had a perfectly good opportunity to transfer, and chose to stick around purely for the money. I guarantee if Rafa did the same to HK then HK would take it on the chin and move on. I can't see where my comments about HK was 'hatefull" and if they were perceived that way I have to apologise for that wasn't intentional. I like HK and always have, but I've just given up on him.... sorry... This comes down to cash. Facts are unless the player is back 100% fit, he wont command a fee big enough to pay off his contract, let alone fund a replacement (nobody has put their hand yet and shown they can be that). It's not as if we are that much up the spout that we need to shift him to save money. The best way forward, financially and in sporting terms is to get the player fit, and go from there. In some way I agree. I just can't see him getting fit again, so it's kinda hard to take it from there. Last year he played but he was never fit, was he?
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I think the probelm with your thread is it was not topical. However it could have been if you read the bleeding news re his latest interview.
Jezzman Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 I think the probelm with your thread is it was not topical. However it could have been if you read the bleeding news re his latest interview. Sorry about that. Sometimes I have a tendency to automatically think people has read everything I have... don't know why, it just happens sometimes...
Dominus Maximus Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Apparently we can afford Kewell. Might be now that you (jezzman) use your brilliant Anfield contacts and try to find out if Harry is covered by some sort of insurance. I'd rather keep Harry and see if he blossoms, than just giving up. When fit, even not at a 100 % he is our best left winger. Period.
