Question for Landlords

The bathroom needs to be ripped out in our gaff, its been looming for ages and he was going to wait until we leave - anyway, it needs to be done imminently so we'll be without a bathroom for a week or so and have workmen coming in and out.

 

Can i ask him to knock off some money off the rent while this is getting done?
