Was impressed with a few things about Crouch yesterday, in particular his desire to get in the box when the ball went out wide. Reckon Fowler has probably helped in that respect. I can see him scoring a few goals in partnership with Bellamy.

Bringing back Fowler was a very shrewd piece of business by Rafa. As you mentioned, i have no doubt he will/has help/ed Crouchie with his goal poaching. Crouchie to score 15+ in the League this season.

With the new additions and the year of experience Crouchy should be very important this year. I don't think he will play as much which should keep him fresh and hungry. I think he has potential to be a great impact sub too.

Watching the replay just noticed that at long last Crouch finds a shirt got sleeves down to his wrists

 

Our attacking play is getting more incisive and Bells' ball was inch perfect yesterday. With natural width now to stretch defence, expect a much healthier coversion rate this season. Crouch good player he is can improve, his heading for a start.

Thought he didn't have a very good game. His touches and passing was generally poor, but it's excusable at this stage.

 

Still, good anticipation for the play when Garcia and him tangled for the shot, and of course, the well taken goal.

I had my doubts at times - Garcia didn't seem to be giving him much support - and he looked a little lost.

 

The thing I was made up with though was although things weren't going his way and he wasn't at his best - he kept getting in there, plugging away trying things and didn't give up.

 

Made up for him when the goal finally came

 

I agree that Fowler has been and will be a good influence on him (And hopefully our other strikers)

A point that no-one has picked up on - he didn't often finish games last season but he scored a vital goal in the last 15 minutes yesterday to win us the match.
