I know it was just a cameo and it's only pre-season, but I'm getting very good vibes about Crouchie for the forthcoming season. I felt over the summer, his successful first LFC season, and his goalscoring for England was begining to give him a higher plane of confidence.

There were hints today that his game is going up to another level. He looked a genuinely class act.

Dunno if you can take much from a pre season game but Barnes was right when he said that after last season, he'll have a lot more self belief and confidence to do even better this year.

rather worryingly I had them very same vibes re Crouchy today

He won't have to go through the difficult start again this season, where he was this rather 'surprise' signing at one of the big clubs. And had the whole world and his dog waiting and wanting him to fail.

He's been very much accepted here, and is now one confident player, thanks in part to that, but also getting to the World Cup. I just reckon he's gonna raise his game again to a new level.

Also, anyone else think that Crouchy looks - well more normal? :D Maybe it's cos I'm just used to him now, but when he signed, and prior to that, just he looked so fecin odd! I know he still has his moments bless 'im. But like today - he just didn't look as spindly and stick-like as normal!

Crouchie looks even "stick-ier" with the new shirt! :D Agree with every one he will be good this season.

-There is only one problem. He doesn't have another level to raise to.

ah but he does.

Unlike you, I can't see your level of posts improving.

Talking of which, I have to concede that the much maligned (by me) Kromkamp also looked impressive yesterday.

:o , he looked solid (at best) but rarely attacked, there was a few times I noticed Pennant coming inside for the ball, then looking right to see nobody there and getting frustrated. I think Barnes even picked up on it once.

I really rate Crouchie and the only important thing he lacks is pace which is a shame because his touch is good enough to find a yard - he needs to work on his movement so that when he receives the ball he can make use of that first touch to create a shooting or assist opportunity potentially further up the pitch.

I saw nothing of the game - one thing though - does Crouch look like he's put on any bulk?

For all his good qork, there were times last year when he was really weak, and so easily shoved off the ball.

Slightly more bulk on his hair, I thought.

give us a clue then - who do you support?

-This is about Crouch on a Liverpool site. If that isn't clues enough I can't help you.

Don't get people's problem with Kromkamp, he's a good footballer, he'd be first choice at pretty much every club outside the top 4.

i agree, i like kromkamp, looks a good player to me

If you don't like Crouchie you have no soul.

-If Crouch is half as good as Rafa "thinks" it wouldn't have been necessary to give him all the support and good press. But hey, it is no need to see the matches, just read what Rafa thinks. That's what matter.

So you believe the press? And you fancy yourself more then Rafa as judge of a players ability?

Right then... moving on.

-Am I not allowed to believe the same press as the Crouch fans are believing?

I don't think Rafa is so stupid that he rates Crouch anywhere near as high as he gives impression of. If so I am by far a better judge than him.

I don't use the press to evaluate a Liverpool player, I judge him on what he does on the pitch. What the press says doesn't matter. Believe what you want.

Rafa is most definately not stupid, but he clearly rates Crouch. Of course there are better players out there, but thats not the point here is it. You say he is crap...when clearly he is not.
