I'd just refuse to sell him at any price and let him have his move next summer. I'm not bothered if we lose money, we're close to where we want to be and could do without the struggle of replacing any of our best players. If we do win the league then his stock will still be high in Spain. What is obvious is if he does go it will be on our terms.

With Aurelio out, I'd keep him personally. His versatility could be important with Johnson bedding in and Insua still learning his trade. I'd rather take the hit of him leaving for nothing next summer than letting him go for peanuts to Madrid, who don't seem to mind paying over the odds for everyone else's players. -
Alonso is obviously not a high priority or they'd pay our valuation, which is a fair price for a top class Spanish international considering it's they who have inflated the market.

Just had a look on RedCafe and that RAWK thread is truly cringeworthy. There's people on there who are obsessed with every post that fuels their inferiority complex. In fact, if you search for RedCafe on google the RAWK thread shows up as one of the main options. In the words of Partridge, that's saaaaaad.
