The funny thing is that I like Dirk Kuyt. He runs his ass off up front. If he could add another 6-10 goals a season to his name then he would be a great partner for Torres. I see him missing good chances and I think to myself I just dont get it, I just dont get him. ( Granted I laugh my socks off but what would you expect) If you got a Tevez then he will give you the same workrate with more goals. Tevez is not brilliant at the moment and I dont blame him as he is just not getting a run in the team and will probably go in the summer, even though he is a better than Berbatov)

What does it matter what United have spent? The point here is not that Liverpool cant compete against the top teams, its that they cant beat the dross. Granted that when Benitez took over, some think he had to replace a whole squad, but I have to ask are some of today’s squad players and better than the ones Houllier had? Was Voronin or is Babbel any better than Pongolle or kewell to name just a couple? The thing is that Benitez always seems to be buying squad players with the odd exceptions like Torres and Mascherano. Yes there are some good ones like Skertal and Agger but it just seems that he keeps buying more instead of quality players at £20+ mil. United have some inexpensive squad players like Fletcher, O Shea, Evans and the not fancied JS Park who seem to come into the team against lower table games or even in big games and perform. Liverpool squad players don’t do this unless its against United Chelsea of Madrid. If Benitez is still here in the summer he should spend all his kitty on one or 2 top quality players, but I expect at least 5 new signings.

Another one We dont cry about only having a shoestring. Park and Fletcher are much better than them. We still win games with them in the team and they play their part. They step up. Yours dont. I know this because I read it on here.

IUD, I keep reading two things on here that I just dont buy. he has build the foundations of the club up again from the pits of despair..... You were top 4. GH had won man trophies. Its not like MON when he took over at Villa and they were close to relegation......and ....on a shoe string budget too...... what shoes do you lot wear? Once again MON at villa has spent what to get them where they are? I would suggest a few more Spanish players other than Villa and Silva who at first you will all proclaim as the second comming of the lord Torres but who later turn out to be "Not up to Liverpool standard" In other words same old same old. Or it could well be Villa and I will sulk for the rest of next season.

I think back to the GH days when you beat us all the time. Drove me bloody mad that did, so I know that you have a good chance this season at OT. Its just not like the fans on here to be confident though, thats what I find strange. Its like you are ona very good run when in fact you are not. I can understand the sentiments that you have done extremely well against the big 4 this season because that I cannot deny, but against the rest is not so good, by that I mean too many draws. So the question is, even if you do beat us, will that really be the title decider. Just as NYR goes by your form against the top 4, I base my beliefs on your performances against the rest and so feel pretty sure we will get to 18 before you get to 19.

I am in very good company here. This thread being a very good example. Back to thread. United have looked lacking up front for most of the season, its not for the lack of trying with loads of hit posts and good saves to keep us out, but we never give up and score in the dying minutes. That sounds just like Liverpool at the start of the season, but not so much since November. So why do some think this will all change at OT? I would love a 2-0 open game but if I were a betting man I would put my money on 0-0 or 1-1. both goals from set pieces by defenders, with strikers getting f*** all out of the game.

Thats the sort of comment I have come to expect every week on here. That or the ref of a s*** defence or..... Still keep on winning though. Look at other threads here, excuses being made already?
