  1. Well, that article is from Maddock, so it is probably bull**** ... I do like Turan as a player, but to be honest, he has stalled in his development lately ... Also, he's had several injuries, so that is probably the reason for the price ... And he has already turned 24, so he is not exactly a wonder-kid anymore ... I would have been satisfied with him on this LFC team, but I would be even more satisfied with Sanchez or Hazard ...
  2. Actually, the reported fee is €15 million ... I wouldn't call that ''really low''...
  3. I think it looks very nice ...
  4. Actually, it is dark charcoal, but never mind ...
  5. Considering our current squad depth, Kranjcar is more than good enough for LFC ... Height is not the only way you measure size ... People often forget that Mascherano was over 13 st (pure muscle), despite being only 5' 9'' tall ...
  6. Just another internet legend ... If Luka Modric can handle the Premier League midfielders, a 6' 1'' / 12st 8lbs player certainly can ...
  7. We are not playing the same formation as Blackpool ... Kranjcar would be very good playing in central midfield, both in a 4-3-3 and a 4-4-2 (diamond) ... He is very strong on the ball, his passing range is very good, and his set-pieces are excellent ... I do have my doubts about Kranjcar's stamina, but than again, Charlie Adam is not really the best example of fitness ...
  8. Not if you've watched Kranjcar play for Dinamo Zagreb or Hajduk Split ... Kranjcar was moved to the wide attacking positions only after he arrived in England ... Before that, he has mostly played in the center ...
  9. The Barca - Schalke final will be interesting to watch ...
  10. Kranjcar is a very technical player that would fit perfectly in Kenny's pass-and-move style of play ... I would gladly have him as a member of our 15-16 players rotation ... Personally, I think that he is a better player than Charlie Adam ...
  11. Well, if you think that he is strong enough for this league, then you really have no argument against him ... His technical and tactical ability is superior to of LFC's central midfielders at the moment, not to mention that he is an epitome of Kenny's one-touch pass-and-move football ...
  12. Since I am not very good at telling stories, I will let the MKB videos speak for me ... http://www.footylounge.com/films//tags/milankakabaros/page-1/ Some very good Aquilani match compilations from this season there ...
  13. How did you came up with that conclusion ? He is stronger than Carrick, for example ... Do you think that Carrick is also ''not very well suited to this league'' ?
  14. Actually, Chelsea have made some of the biggest transfer losses over the past decade ... Veron, Crespo, SWP, Shevchenko ... Just to mention the biggest ones ...
  15. I can understand that the feelings are still strong on the Torres issue, but I do remember the feelings towards Michael Owen when he left us in the summer of 2004, and the excitement amongst LFC fans when we've made a bid for him the next summer ... This is football after all, and to be honest, football fans (even LFC ones) have a strong tendency of forgiving ... I don't think that Torres has ever slagged his team-mates or the club ... He has only tried to justify his poorly advised decision ... I am in no way advocating for his return, but I do think it is possible, and if he continues to struggle over the next 6-12 months, very probable ... After all, even Shevchenko (two situations often compared) returned to AC Milan for a season, before finally returning to Dynamo Kiev ...
  16. Nothing ... We have already paid the full £17 million to AS Roma ...
  17. You mean, like we didn't make an offer to Real Madrid for Michael Owen, in the summer of 2005 ? You mean, like when we bought Aldridge and Beardsley to replace the goals of the departing Rush, and then Rush came back one year later ? Now, that was one nasty situation for Kenny ...
  18. Great player ... Has totally rediscovered his goalscoring form this season, so I doubt that Bayern would even consider selling ... In the meantime: http://www.expressan...urs-april-13-2/
  19. Because Alberto Aquilani is a vastly superior talent, compared to Charlie Adam ... I am not sure about his injury record and about his attitude towards returning to LFC, but in terms of pure footballing talent and ability, Aquilani is classes above Adam ...
  20. He is at the wrong club, at the wrong time ... Personally, I think that he will be back to Atletico or LFC by the summer of 2012 ...
  21. Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish targets four January buys in crucial transfer window Kenny Dalglish will ask Liverpool's principal owner, John W Henry, to provide the funds for as many as four January signings in an attempt to rectify the club's desperately disappointing campaign when the pair meet in the next 48 hours. By Rory Smith 14 Jan 2011 Though the Scot has offered his squad staunch support in public since he replaced Roy Hodgson at Anfield – insisting after Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at Blackpool that the players already at his disposal "look good enough" to move Liverpool away from the relegation zone – he is convinced he must use the transfer window to bolster his resources if he is to have any chance of salvaging the season. Henry arrived on Merseyside on Thursday to begin a 10-day visit and will doubtless seek talks with his caretaker manager as a matter of urgency. The American can expect the 59 year-old to request that Fenway Sports Group, the club's parent company, makes substantial funds available this month, despite the uncertainty over his position and Liverpool's repeated insistence that January is a "difficult" time to buy. Dalglish – together with Damien Comolli, the club's director of football strategy – is thought to harbour hopes that as many as four senior reinforcements could be drafted in, with a left-back, a wide player and a striker top of his agenda. Luis Suarez, the Ajax striker, has emerged as the most likely target for the last of these positions, with the player's club minded to sell him – providing they receive an offer in excess of £18 million. Sources in Holland have confirmed that a bid from Liverpool, who have watched the player intensely over the last few months, is anticipated. As well as Suarez, the Ajax left-back Urby Emanuelson is believed to be a target, while Lille duo Gervinho and Eden Hazard – both of whom can play either as an orthodox striker or in a wide position – have attracted Liverpool's attention. Moves for Yann M'Vila and Sylvain Marveaux, both of Rennes, are expected to wait until the summer. Ashley Young, of Aston Villa, and Charles N'Zogbia, the Wigan winger, have also been discussed, though it is feared the former's asking price may prove prohibitive, while the DW Stadium club have received no offers for the latter. Hamburg's Eljero Elia and Anderlecht's Romelu Lukaku are also under consideration. Dalglish's determination to sign a left-back to replace Paul Konchesky may also lead to a return to Anfield for Stephen Warnock, with the club believed to be considering a loan offer with a view to a permanent move in the summer. What the Scot will seek to learn from Henry, though, is what level of funding is likely to be available, as he admitted on Thursday. "I can always make a request [for money], but it might not always be accepted," said Dalglish. "I have never broached the subject of money being available with the owners. If there is a possibility of someone coming in then we will cross that bridge when we come to it." FSG has made it clear it will not set a hard and fast transfer budget, preferring to judge each case on its own merit, but with just 17 days of the window remaining, the club cannot afford to waste time. It also remains uncertain as to what extent Dalglish must trim his squad before he seeks additional recruits. FSG is unimpressed with Liverpool's already bloated wage bill and is unlikely to permit its exponential growth simply for short-term gain. Saleable assets, though, are in short supply at Anfield. Konchesky cannot be sold without dispensation from Fifa as he has already played for two clubs this season, while the wages earned by the likes of Christian Poulsen, Ryan Babel and Milan Jovanovic will make them hard to move on. http://www.telegraph...fer-window.html
  22. Germans back in for Babel Hoffenheim keen on Reds forward By Pete O'Rourke Last updated: 7th January 2011 Skysports.com understands Hoffenheim are trying to lure Ryan Babel away from Liverpool. The Bundesliga side have held a long-term interest in Babel and have made moves to sign the Dutchman in the last two transfer windows. Babel's future at Liverpool has again been the subject of conjecture with the 24-year-old failing to establish himself in Roy Hodgson's plans. The former Ajax man has made just one Premier League start this season and Liverpool are thought to be open to offers for Babel. Birmingham are also keen on Babel and are believed to have had a loan bid rejected for the forward. Hoffenheim are thought to be ready to make a bid to sign Babel on a permanent basis as doubts surround the future of Demba Ba. Any move for Babel depends on Liverpool being able to bring in a replacement as Hodgson does not want to leave himself short of options with the under-fire Reds boss already lacking strength in-depth in attack. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6640666,00.html
