Sanchez and Remy......oh well

We had the top two strikers in the premier league last year and this year we have neither. Not the easiest thing to recover from. Any team would struggle under the circumstances. Our failing is that Rodgers appears to have wasted the money...

Agree with most of this, not with selling coutinho, but not convinced yet that he has done enough to be first choice. If we agree on that and that neither Gerrard nor Lucas will play every game. Then we are still lacking in midfield. Gerrard is no hamann or mascherano, but he's not the box to box midfielder anymore either so we need someone else to play that role. It may be Emre can but he is unknown quantity at this time.

Yes, we get it, we are bargain hunting in hopes of getting the next suarez type superstar. It may work but it's not hard to see why the strategy is underwhelming for many fans.

Someone needs to tally up all the money we have spent on young talent over the years. And there is not much to show for it. Success will naturally attract talent. Not to mention, that it's a whole lot easier to blood youth into a successful team. Buy the players we need now, keep the momentum and then we can invest long term. There are 5 serious contenders for 4 CL places. ....

Was suarez a superstar when we purchased him? We have a knack of ending up with top notch goal scorers regardless of the incompetence of our transfer team, Owen fowler, torres and then suarez. None have done well after leaving us.....and we have done better each time......time will tell with suarez but we will survive. Just need to find the next superstar in the making ....Easy right?

Didn't see any other option for us but now that it's happened it's depressing. The impact he had simply by being on the field cannot be overstated. That being said, we did well without him the first 6 games last season so let's see....we do need at least one major signing though

Because most here seem convinced that it's logical to keep him. It's not. IF we can get 50 million and sanchez, we should cut our losses now and take it.....or gamble on losing a 80 million pound asset for nothing later. Given Suarez clear lack of rational thought, if you were FSG, which way would you go?
