    Without sounding too melodramatic, make the most of the last few games of the season, as who knows what we’ll be like next season. And I don’t trust our owners to do what they need to do. The domino effect.

    Yep agreed, said it during the game yesterday, as we can’t use fatigue as an excuse. As you say, we started out playing like the first frogmen walking on the sea floor…..

    Yeah I get that, but after winning the game at Brentford, he’s benched, after helping set up the away win at PSG, he’s benched again for the next game, then benched again after Southampton. And for a completely out of sorts Jota, to boot.

    Stick it into perspective, our “ virtually same” side has played more than 800 minutes more than Newcastle to date. Them not being involved with Europe eventually caught up with us yesterday. I’m not using that as an excuse, because there were bigger issues than that, but that shows you quite starkly, how our lads have had to go to the well, time and time again.

    He hasn’t been helped by the fact, that when he does do something and contributes, he’s benched again for the next game. I’m not backing him here, but I don’t think he’s been given a run of games this season to help him on his up curves. Jota on the other hand….

    We played quite well in the week, this today, from the start was just an extremely bad bad, day in the office.
