think a lot of people who saw him would say john charles is head and shoulders the best player on that list. a lot of others might say giggs. you can have toshak if you don't fancy hughes. joe allen obviously.

may be guilty of not thinking it through entirely, but southall, charles, giggs, bale, hughes and rush, at least, compares with anything england have produced.

Dortmund aren't very good at renewing deals. Too many players lost with contracts running down.

undeniable some of that. but as soon as you've assumed we're "throwing" players at the manager then you've got room for all sorts of fantastical ruminations. + dortmund have thrown money at coveted youngsters (who might settle or not) as a function of selling two of their best players (at least; possible two more leave before summer's end).

arsenal have got as many former southampton players as us. the mancs have two and have been heavily linked with mane. spurs have just bought one. real madrid have one. it's not just our obsession. they produce and buy good players.

most important thing is the entire club has clear idea of what is needed. if he can give that direction than it's more likely scouts can provide solutions. there have been some successes, but a number of the players that won titles with dortmund have gone elsewhere and not quite done it to the same level.

leicester are about to give vardy 80,000 a week. so yes. that's more than isco and casimero are on at madrid, both of whom played a part in a CL final last month and both of whom cost less or significantly less than 25 million.

definitely got chances, my main worry with Wales would be they lost to England, but more than that, didn't really turn up.

the market has fairly different parameters dependent on the clubs involved. madrid are in a position to sign players twice as good as deeney for half the price. which isn't to say he isn't worth the 25 to leicester, or in fact to watford.

loads wanted rooney out pre-tournament anyway. think the changes were fine, things were learned, without sense that result/performance would have been much different. think he's wasted chances to look at proper front combination though. you've got however many strikers and none of them really played in partnership for any length of time.

not sure the market works like this. we have the option to pay 30 million on players that Leicester don't. having said that i think mane's decent. not too far removed from the good/bad sterling.

bad attitude in the past i think. but he's played well this euros. and think he's been one of inter's better signings of late (but that's more what i've heard than seen).
