suarez had one clear cut chance in the first half. people bang on about how he misses sitters but we dont really produce clear cut chances (not last season anyway). most of his chances come after he beats a few players with skill and needs to take a shot while still under pressure. Long for the penalty was a clear cut chance. Morrison? had one after being set up by Lukaku. Suarez had two vey good chances with headers who he should have scored. but his other chances were far from clear cut. It was the same last season. he is creating most of his chances on his own. people talk about having a striker like Van Persi, but many of his goals came from getting the ball when all he had to do was shoot.

your first point is why saturday was so disappointing. I was sure we will see one big signing this summer as I thought the owners would want to give a big boost for Rodgers, and to send a message to everyone about the clubs aspiraitions. I still think we might be surprised with such a signing but it doesnt look like it.

I assume we have quite a few scouts working for us. the City guys are probably meant to be the leading ones but we must have others.

I dont like playing Glen as a LB. I know many of you here like it but I dont. it takes a lot from his attacking play IMO. also, I dont like seeing Kelly as a FB. He doesnt have the acceleration, agility and tecnique to be v very good FB. I want him to start playing as a CB which to me is his natural position and one he can be very very good at IMO. If Enriqe isnt available Robinson should get the chance. having Cole on the bench instead of Sterling was also disappointing. Cole doesnt look capable of running anymore. posters here were laughing at me for saying I rather pacheco play then Downing. with every game I feel like that more and more. Downing shouldnt play and I will sell him for 5m. It was worrying to see how off the pace Gerrard was yesterday but he wasnt alone in this. And I really think Carragher should be 4th choice at best. Allen looked good to me. nothing special, but he looked comfortable with the ball, and he seems like he has very good reading of the game and anticipation. Frustrating as we didnt look like we did in the last matches. our pressing wasnt very good, the passing wasnt as sharp and there wasnt fluidity between Borini, Suarez and Gerrard like we saw in recent matches. we also shouldnt look like we did last 15 minutes even with 10 players. its too bad we have such a difficult fixtures coming up as we need to find our rythem. but I liked what I saw in the recent matches so hopfully this setback will make us stronger.

reading the game is important.but im still not sure he is that good at reading the game. and its hugely important if we play with a high line, which could cause even an excellent reader of the game to struggle. too bad we didnt let him play last season.

I didnt mean to knock Coates. But Im still not sure he is good enough. I have to admit I have a problam with slow CBs. and I dont know if he is good enough to cover his lack of pace. especialy if we will play with a high line which seems to be the plan.

still not convinced by him. I would like to see Kelly in CB if needed. he is a CB playing RB for me.

If we get Sahin, and two other players in attacking positions I think we will be in very good shape but I will still be worried about our defence.an injury to Skrtel or Agger could really hurt us. but that would be a very good summer!

my point was we dont know why Rayo didnt play him. west ham didnt play mascherano. I know there were issues with his contract. who knows what went on in Rayo. I just dont think thats a reason to knock the player.

I dont know how good Cole was in france. I know how he looked before for us and how he looked pre season. I wish he will come good but he looked very much out of shape this pre season. Downing has a lot of good qualities but he doesnt really use them. he is predictable and he can barely go past defenders ( at least now he is trying and that wasnt the case last season). but he is working hard on the pitch and we can only hope he improves because eventhough I think he is a very average player he is better then what he is showing. and the fact Pacheco wasnt playing for Rayo doesnt matter much to me. I dont know who is their manager and why he didnt play him. Insua didnt play for Galatasaray but by all acounts he is a very very good player for Sporting.
