Have Crouch/Babel/Benayoun delivered when we needed a goal and Gerrard/Torres weren't firing on all cylinders? e.g. in our draws / losses: Pompey away? Birmingham home? Spurs at home? Blackburn away? Reading away? Man City away? Wigan home? Boro away? West Ham away? I'm confident Babel will come good So I have to disagree, when the chips are down, it doesn't happen.

If the players delivered, Rafa wouldn't rotate so much. Our forwards in particular have failed to deliver, so Rafa rotates them. Catch 22 .. Rafa will stop rotating when the board supports him ..

I agree with many of your points, however, ... Carra is a one off. In the modern era, he's the only player of arguably limited footballing ability to come through our ranks, and stay in the team long term. Are any of the current youngsters, with similar attributes going to get the same chance, be honest? Torres instant quality, Mascherano just gets better and better, both at a price Crouch, Kuyt, Voronin, Pennant, Benayoun were all compromises, which in hindsight haven't worked. You get what you pay for ..
