  1. It really is amazing. Even the commentary in the immediate aftermath brushed over it. I know damn well that if it was a different club (except United, obviously), Sky Sports News would be on autopilot by now in condemnation.
  2. Was that appeal 'frivolous'? Much as I hate him, it wasnt the same as Aliadieire, no?
  3. It was rightly four, though, by the ridiculous rules we are subjected to. The precedent for harmless flicks to the face was long since set, and by that ridiculous letter of the law, Aliadiere's was a 'frivolous' appeal. Not saying its right......
  4. I think, with the pace of the game, theres a lot that you can 'let them away with', but right enough, there are some that are simply inexcusable. A few years ago, when u were at a match, there used to be at least a 50 50 chance of a decent ref. Now, when your at a match, who do you hope for? Every time its the same, i get the programme, look who the ref is, and s*** myself, because there isnt one who I trust to officiate a big game anymore. What do you think?
  5. Ferguson can just go and f*** himself. One set of rules for him, and one for everyone else. A sad fact of life in the current environment
  6. His assistant cant have been that far away. I can't comprehens being at a match, and watching the decision making process between the referee and his assistants. Even simplicities such as throw ins, which should be a linesmans call, 90% of the time, the ball goes out, the referee decides, then the linesman lamely sticks up his flag in accordance with the ref's decison. drives me f***ing crazy.
  7. I have a begrudging respect for John Terry - I would have him in my team any day of the week. Lampard is indeed a reptile!
  8. As an Arsenal Fan, words really cant describe the contempt I feel for him. All thats wrong with the English footballer today. And they wonder why we aint winning world cups????
  9. I think 'the current climate' goes back further than Eduardo - the red cards have been flying for tackles like that most of this season. It was incredible that he got away with that, let alone being compounded by the contempt he showed by showing his back so arrogantly. Utter utter c***. And Ashley Cole!
  10. I think its actually called 'Pizza hut Park'
  11. Hmmm, Hunt is pretty bad, but, for the all round picture, Cole encapsulates everything that is wrong with the archetypal English footballer. A true s*** house. Please please please beat the horrible mancs on Sunday - Thebestteamintheworldever would really appreciate it! Football would appreciate it!!!!
  12. A more despicable c*** doesnt exist in the premiership today, unfortunately. A truly nasty man. When is a referee going to draw a line in the sand against a player openly barking swear words in their faces?
  13. Whats the perceived wisdom amongst scousers about what happened when he nearly went to Cheski? Could anyone tempt him away from Anfield now?
  14. Thats actually a really good point - I never thought of it like that before. Althougn there isnt a huge amount of players to compare - it will be interesting to see what happens with the current crop.
  15. But I didnt say that I have no time for him because people call him Stevie G, its the people that call Stevie G Stevie G that I don'[t have time for. With hindsight, My lack of time for the people who call Stevie G Stevie G should not have been allowed to affect the time that I, and others actually have for Stevie G
  16. What was the joke?
  17. Sorry. Although the point remains. He used to have a bit of a nasty streak, but havent seen that for ages now. I cant see a proper reason that anyone would have any axe to grind with Gerrard. A true Warrior - can never have enough of them in your team.
  18. I don't think so. I think most people have a lot of time for 'Stevie G'. Except when he's referred to as Stevie G.
  19. Thats just a ridiculous statement. How on earth can someone watching an emotional interview just after a Champions League final possible know enough about the man to make the distinction between him being gutted for his team, and gutted for himself. If he was that much out for himself, he wouldnt have come out the following day and reject Barca to sign a new contract with Arsenal, surely?
  20. That last part is true, those odd 1-2 million fees that we have received for these kind of players really adds up, and offsets the Jeffers style errors made in the past. I dont think theres a Manager out there who is so concerned about running his club as a viable business. I guess we are about to see if this is a noble, but ultimately flawed philosophy.
  21. Had to look that up on Wikipedia, but, disappointingly accurate!
  22. Agreed, 100%, and that is one of the major things that I think we lack over all the teams around us. Not as expensive as people would have you believe. Of the 17m fee agreed with Sevilla, the bulk was to be paid upon achievments whilst with us, very few of which were met. I would be surprised if we lost more than 2-3 million on thad deal. He was a funny fish, Reyes, one of those players you feel you really should love, but can never really warm to. I hate seeing a player who does something s***, and then gets up and smiles about it. Both purposefully excluded. Campbell is a bit tapped in the head, and needed a change of scenery, but I would still have him if the choice. Pires was my favourite player of all time, an absolute legend who I really belive could be doing a job for us still, if not over 60 games a season any more.
  23. I dont get this whole thing of 'I hate Arsenal because of the media fawning over them', like its our fault. Surely it should be 'Arsenal play decent football, but I hate the media for the way they fawn over Arsenal'?
  24. ROB , robbed, rob·bing. –verb (used with object) 1. to take something from (someone) by unlawful force or threat of violence; steal from. Where was the unlawful part of the Fabregas case?
  25. I think when you look at what has become of the key parts of that team (Henry, Vieira, Ljungberg, Reyes, Gilberto etc), and their lack of effectiveness since then, it's hard to take issue with the dismantling of that team. Its a real talent that Wenger has, that he rarely gets credit for, is knowing when to call time on a player who we, the fans, still think can go on at the top level. As we say, Arsene knows!
