I was under the impression that Djibs transfer to Marseille will be permanent regardless of how many goals he scores for them (injury permitting of course). The 15 goal trigger for the permanent transfer was talked about in the initial stages, but was rejected by Parry.

On the subject of Pennant, I'd rather save the money (if we get Alves of course) and give Anderson a few run outs in the first team this season.

I really fear for Luis. His chances last season were very limited, with a while out injured in between. He's can play on either flank, but doesn't look comfortable there. He's not physically strong enough to play just behind a striker either. If we bring in Alves and another striker, I'm stuggling to see how he's even gonna get on the bench, never mind any playing time. I can't see him being here past next summer.

I'll take that AS article as a positive. We've been there before though.

And there was me thinking that Rafa was gonna sell Xabi to fund the Alves deal.

For his first two seasons at our helm, he's brought in a few players, but largely still managed Ged's players, some of which we just couldn't get rid of. His first season was quite painful domestically, with some dreadful performances, but it didn't take him long to suss out the Premiership. The difference last season was amazing, still with a few players that weren't up to scratch. During this time we've won 3 trophies, got to another cup final and should have won the World Club cup. Now for the season ahead, Rafa's gonna virtually have "his own" squad, hopefully with at least two more additions. The sky really is the limit. He's already a legend in my eyes, but if he delivers number 19, which we've been craving for so long, he'll be up their with Shanks and Paisley instantly. I feckin love the guy.

I think that Del Nido is probably as fecked off as all of us with this saga and will cave in to Rafa's stubborn persistance.

The whole reason Trezeguet became a viable option for us is because it was being reported we might be able to get him on a seasons loan. £13.7m for a soon to be 29 year old striker is a no brainer.

Don't forget Pongelle and Mellor. A trully magical night. I lost track of the number of times I called the ref a c*** in the 2nd half, who gave us feck all. We didn't need his help in the end.
