Agreed Shearer was a great striker but has always been dirty.Now he's a not so great striker who is dirty. He's a pale immitation of the footballer he used to be and his style of play is now barely a step up from c***'s like Drunken Ferguson. Its nearly 2006 not 1996

Went to Inter had a heart complaint collapsed in training etc.Had opperation.Moved to Bolton last season still worries about his health may have been told that he should give up football or risk death,still at Bolton i think but hasn't been involved this season.Sam probably keeps him ther to keep Diouf happy.

Like i said in another thread: Cisse is limited in what he offers to a team but can be effective if a team plays to his strengths.His strengths are obviously his pace and a powerful shot,however i feel he is far more suited to a team who's play is based on fast breaking counter attacks.Auxerre utilized him by playing this way and i'm quite sure he would have suited Houlliers game plan more than Benitez. Houllier's game plan involved us inviting a lot of pressure onto our deep lying defence allowing the opposition to commit many players forward then when we got the ball getting the ball forward quickly often through Gerrard to the strikers.I'm sure this would have suited Cisse far more.Unfortunately for Cisse, Benitez prefers us to retain possession of the ball and when we lose it press the opposition rather than sit back.We counter attack far more rarely than under Houllier as longer quicker passing from back to front is more likely to result in losing the ball. When i see Cisse playing in front of the defence rather than running in behind it i feel he looks rather ordinary and doesn't have the skills to take on beat a defender. I also would argue against those who suggest Cisse could be our "penalty box" striker .This role is about more than shooting ability(of which i feel Cisses' method is power rather than placement) but has more to do with positional sense and timing of runs and a general knack of been in the right place.Cisse doesn't play in this way and there are few around better than Owen at this.
