By the way, on something of a tangent, have there been any concrete figures mentioned regarding the cost of redeveloping the main stand? It seems fairly ridiculous paying £150m for an entirely new stadium when we could stick with Anfield and all its traditions, redevelop a stand (including extra corporate hospitality bits and pieces) and save money overall. Especially when the new stadium has a maximum attendance of only 10 000 or so more than Anfield.

Was more involved for 10 mins or so before coming off, had a number of good moments: beat the fullback soundly but poor cross, caught the same fullback tackling back, and ended up running until the edge of the D, and found another player. Also involved running at their defense a couple of times. Apart from one occasion when he lost his footing didn't waste possession. Looked like a good player to me.

To those complaining of the lack of investment- billionaires willing to tie up hundreds of millions of pounds in a venture on which you expect to lose money, and who actually care in any way about Liverpool FC, and are willing to deal with all the associated public profile, I would imagine are in fairly short supply. Have you all considered there may be no one in the world willing to do that?

The question is whether the lack of chances is as a result of a lack of creativity in midfield or of intelligent movement further forward. Could well be if we had someone willing to make the runs the midfield could make the passes.

Re: Arsenal, isn't it going to take them something like 25 years of full attendances to pay the fee back? They're certainly not going to be in a better financial state for a good while. And Man U , they're only about £500m in debt. Ok so it increases yearly income, but when you take into account the initial outlay it's not an obvious decision.

That goals to minutes ratio, you have to take it in context- Cisse is used where he is most effective, against slow defenses, and at an outlet when we are under the cosh. He wouldn't be able to replicate that ratio if played for 90 mins. And he doesn't work for the team as much as Moro. Last time I saw him come on late in a game, we were under pressure, all he needed to do was run back and forth and put the defenders off. Tire himself out for ten minutes. He was still prowling around the centre circle ignoring the defenders, waiting for a perfect ball to run on to. The one time he charged down a defender it was extremely effective due to his pace, but he only did it once. Either Rafa tells him not to pressurize defenders or he's ignoring team commands, and the former seems unlikely.

Maybe a concentration thing? When really applying himself can hit the pass to perfection, but not focussed when doing the easy things.
