Charlie Adam for me. I thought he was excellent. the only negative besides not scoring was Downing yet again. He did absolutely nothing when he came on
-
What'll be the odds on Capello getting the sack or leaving before the euros At least the English are getting their excuses in place before their inevitable humiliation at the hands of Germany
-
yep, s**** jersey that!!
-
that home top is rank!!! its the spitting image of the crappy Reebok top we won our cup treble in. i like the one up the top of the screen though, thats pretty cool looking
-
Agger Skrtel Henderson
-
More like millions
-
yeah, he has a massive release clause. (release clause is not a metaphor for penis btw) he's a quality player though. maybe an £8 million bid, those portugese are renowned for selling on the cheap
-
i didnt know that about Spurs. i take i wont be getting the job as chief scout then?
-
you reckon??? i doubt it, The spanish are renowned for under pricing their players.
-
im surprised we havent looked into Rossi from Villareal. they're playing rather s***tly at the minute. He's already played and scored in this league so there no bother there. He speaks the lingo. and above all else he's a natural finisher. id say a few million would get him. Even 8 million maybe
-
Wasn't morientes quoted once as saying he believed he was playing so badly, that he thought he should have been paying us wages He was honest. To be fair to him, he tried his hardest every game, but for some reason it just didn't work out. But he was far more talented than Carroll
-
Maybe you're right Zoob I have a mate that thinks every player we sign is world class. I actually think if they signed me, he'd say I was great Anyway. I said to him yesterday. "Fran, if Carroll was at Norwich, had only scored 5 goals in a calendar year, and was playing for them, as poorly as he is for us, would you sign him for 5 million?" Even he couldn't answer yes
-
The Gomez guy you mention is the bayern fella is imagine right? I won't lie, I've never seen him Drogba in his pomp had bags of pace, Carroll does not. Ibrahimovic is the same, plus he can dribble, again, Carroll can not. Vieri ill give you, but Vieri was a natural born finisher, one of those players that always just seemed to be in the right place, at the right time, again, another quality Carroll does not possess If Carroll was at any other club Nd playing as poorly as he is. Then there would not be 1 man here that could make a defence for him, nobody would say he was talented, not bloody one In his full year here he has done NOTHING, that's not an over reaction by me either, its a common fact. If house want to belive that somehow, somewhere there's a talented player inside of him, then so be it. But if you take off your rose tinted spectacles for one second then you'll clearly see how useless he is, and how he's insulting this club with his complete lack of respect for the jersey
-
None of them players are similar in their style of play to Carroll, not one
-
There's no cut off, its not a "big and small argument" What I'm saying is these big bundling British style strikers don't score enough goals, thats actually a fact and plain for anybody to see
-
Here's a question for you. Can you name any of these "big strikers" that has consistently scored more than 20 goals in a league campaign in the last 10 years? Big fellas won't get you more than 15, and they'll actually do well to get you 15 in the first place. Strikers are employed to score goals, and lots of them. Big strikers do not do this Id actually say Agger could do a better job than Carroll if I'm being honest, at least he doesn't fall around like a new born giraffe
-
I don't think it means very much as we wouldn't get a work permit for him. It took ages for the dutch to give him one. And they give work permits to prossies for gods sake Of course we could just fill out the form under the name A. Ferguson, I'm sure we'd have no problems then
-
Ah come on Davis is the epitome of the old antiquated "big troublesome centre forward", all this long ball stuff went out with button boots. Football has moved on. Unfortunately for us, nobody appears to have informed our scouting department
-
If anyone can see a "hidden talent" in what we've seen of Andy Carroll to date, then they need to be sectioned He's no better than Kevin Davis for Bolton, Michael Ricketts a few years back, or Duncan Ferguson Honestly, what has he shown to warrant any respect from us fans? He walks around the pitch without breaking into a sweat. He's taking the piss out of us, we don't owe him a thing, we already pay his bloody wages. He owes us some bloody effort!!!
-
a spanish Rooney like player. an exceptional talent indeed. But judging by the drivel we've signed in the past few years, our scoutiong staff have probably never even heard of him

Stewart Downing's contribution so far this season.....
chrisbonnie replied to Iver's topic in Liverpool FC
id sell the useless s**** as quickly as possible. simple as that really -
i wont tell lies and say im a season ticket holder. im irish, so a bonafide OTT. but i go over on average 3 times a year, of all the games ive been to, the only ones with a good atmosphere where the champions league ones, (the chelsea semi in 2005 was amazing ) but your average league game against the likes of Wolves, Wigan or Fulham, are nothing special. I wouldnt say you could hear a pin drop, but when you're not sitting in the kop, it really isnt that noisy. then there's the seats. Granted im a tall fella, im 6'2, but the seats are not comfortable. Now before you'se all jump down my throat with "well you pay to see a game, not for an armchair". i still dont want to pay to have back ache by the end of 90 minutes. they need an American approach to match days, dont most fans in the U.S go to games hours before they start for general entertainment of some sorts. be it even for food etc...... thats what they need to do with the new anfield.
-
cheers lads. yeah, nothing wrong with that. its still not as good as the Hicks one. But a whole better than the current Anfield thats for sure. i know anfield has the history and all. But in all honesty, its actually a crap place to watch a football game. the seating is cramped, the food areas are rubbish, even the clubshop is far too small. that new look anfield would be spot on IMO
-
the parry bowl is a bit s**** if im being honest. but in all honesty lads, its the fans that make the stadium ,not the other way round. i read somewhere earlier that this AFL crowd did a second set of drawing for the new stadium ,and these ones had a single tiered Kop. i cant find any pictures though, has anybody else seen them?

Stewart Downing's contribution so far this season.....
chrisbonnie replied to Iver's topic in Liverpool FC
the main thing that annoys me with the signing of Downing is 90% of fans knew he;d be s****, yet some how, some where, there was a supposed "footballing expert" that beleived he was worth 20 million pound. hands up lads, who actually thought he was any use to begin with?
