  6. Sad news earlier today when the news of Nat Lofthouse's passing away was released. Bill Shankly LOVED Lofthouse, the Lion of Vienna as he was nicknamed. He used to ask his players of the time to study Lofthouse and was full of praise for him, his speed and his awesome skill. If there is an afterlife, you can bet that as sad as Bill will be for those left behind, his smile will be as wide as the Mersey when he welcomes his old mate. RIP Nat Lofthouse.
  7. I think what you're asking for there is for everyone to see things from YOUR perspective. It's a fact that it is virtually impossible to view the world through any other filter than your own ( I hate the term this requires, 'one's own' so I don't use it, it's so pretentious). Everyone has their own perspective and that has to be accepted. Anyone requiring things to be seen only through THEIR perspective perhaps displays a lack of understanding of how the myriad numbers of minds out there are designed to work.
  8. I think we'd play better if we asked Poulsen to play for the other side and they had 12 to our 10.
  9. I have absolutely no fear about relegation. Equally, I have no hope about being in Europe next season either. Unless there's a war on. It's my belief that we can forget triumph and disaster where those two destinations are concerned. I'm not saying we are too good to go down, we're not and have no divine right to our place but there are several teams even worse. There are many teams even better though and that's why we'll be letting our passports gather dust. I'd reckon our very proud record of being the only team to have not finished outside the top ten in several decades is going to come to an end (along with some even worse bad news concerning another team and a certain number which I'd have the same trouble as Paul Hardcastle saying) and believe we'll finish twelfth.
  10. It seems to me Liverpool Football Club know of this mystical conveyor belt where defenders who can't defend are manufactured. How many have we had now? 30? 40? We seem to have the knack of being in pole position to pick up players who usually look good on the ball and going forward but ask them to do what they are paid to do and defend, and they look gormless and ripe for being ragged. There's been calls for a shake-up in defence as Carragher was getting older and less mobile and so we should use an Agger-Scrotal partnership! Ha! Give me Carragher EVERY time. He CAN defend and clearly CARES. Those other two? They can go as far as I'm concerned.
  11. Just noticed Blackpool have won FIVE games away from home this season. Liverpool, one!
  12. 'Levels we haven't seen from them'? That's because there are too many players masquerading as footballers and insulting the heritage of Liverpool FC. There were too many 'players' out there tonight who shouldn't be troubling the Premiership, never mind playing for Liverpool. Hopeless, careless, wastes of space, the majority, I'd say. No passion, no drive, no desire. Blackpool went upfield and their players chased after it like it mattered. Players on a fraction of the contracts the ones in black are on. When Liverpool got the ball upfield, some wandered up at their leisure. At one point. Blackpool had all ten outfielders chase back to cover four Liverpool players in or around the box. the remainder of Liverpool's players weren't north of the halfway line. Liverpool players lost the ball and didn't care overmuch and usually made no attempt to retrieve it. It was a shambolic 'performance' of staggering ineptitude. I've come away feeling more depressed about a football match than I have been in the last two seasons. I also think too many people may have invested too much unwarranted hope in Dalglish's leadership. It could literally turn out to be THE worst thing the club could have done.
  13. "Raise yer airms like this and sing efter me......When you walk....'
  14. Giggs was my MoM too. He's what, 63 and still retains the enthusiasm and ability he did at 21. I loved Martin Kelly and thought Shelvey was excellent in the short time he'd had. I really hope they go on to great things at our club and have Carragher length careers and both have to buy new cabinets for their houses.
  15. In your opinion. Mine is diametrically opposite. I'm pleased to say.
  16. Me too. Honest as the day is long and cares nothing for the reputation of the big money league or who he upsets. Top man in my book, him.
  17. That was NOT standard. I know they have some real bell-ends but so do we and there were a lot out today. Smashing five cisterns off the wall in the toilets of the upper stand and then abusing the worker who came in to help the situ is not good. Breaking seats and throwing them, with the intention of hitting the mancs behind the goal below us is not good. Munich songs and racist sheet is not good. And we heard lots and lots of racist stuff. Of all that, it's the racist stuff that's been more prevalent at aways this season. There was far too much at Ewood park on Wednesday and I'd say it's making a comeback.
  18. There were some RIGHT knob-ends in our end today though and there's no excuse. Smashing seats, throwing them and hitting our OWN fans (one just to our right got hit on the head and suffered a deep laceration that was pissing blood and it looked horrible), smashing five cisterns in the toilets which made it ankle deep in water and then abusing the poor guy sent to turn the mains off and report on the damage, singing 'Munich' songs, coming out with disgusting racist she hite, some right tossers, there were. The one blessing that took some steam out though was the unmistakeable smell of a certain 'exotic' substance at various points through the game. Nice. During lock in, there were numerous seats smashed and when our gates opened, people were moving to the exits to the tune of breaking seats. A bit depressing, really.
  19. I will berate you. Well, when I say berate I actually mean I was right behind you, having left at about the same time as you. Having accepted defeat, we were almost disappointed Liverpool scored and were both 'relieved' when the pen was missed. I personally don't 'hate' Hodgson. Equally, I wouldn't give to much of a Donald Duck if this season ended in relegation. I honestly can't see that happening but if it did and we could look on the 'positive' side, it would 'prune' us of some of the less desirable bampots that have hitched themselves to our wagon. My feeling is that I was born to support Liverpool, not the idea of success. We have a mare of a season, I mean really touch bottom, there's only one way to go, and that's up. Something to look forward to, that, I think.
