Why is Carroll's transfer from 6 years ago being used as a measure of recent actions? Top strawmanning.

Tut, come on.

Well we played another final last night, The Macron Cup final against Barnoldswick at Fleetwood. After taking an early lead and more than matching the team from 1 division above we had a player sent off after 40 mins. The pattern was set for a defensive posture from the purples, while still threatening on the break. This was going well until the 82nd minute when finally Barnoldswick pierced our defence to take the game to extra time. 30 more minutes failed to separate the teams even though the purples had another player sent off and we played the last 5 mins with 9 men. Drama at the end of the evening in the form of a shootout which we won 3-2 after both keepers made saves. So 10 months after first kicking a ball as City of Liverpool FC, we have won 2 knockout cups, and secured a promotion to the North West Counties Premier Division. This supporter-owned club is breaking records and making their hundreds of fans happy.

Yeah the scousest thing at a match I've seen for years.

Big promotion party indeed on Saturday. 3 nil win away in a derby (Litherland) to secure promotion in our first season of existence. REMYCA are a very good team and after a tight first half we were 1 up within a minute of the restart then blew them away by scoring 2 more, in all we scored 3 in 7 minutes. The 3rd goal was brilliant, a 40 yarder catching the keeper off his line. Cue mass celebrations from the vast majority of a record 1300+ crowd. Sadly a pitch invasion at the final whistle left a steward with a broken arm and some minor injuries, hopefully he's not out of action for too long. If anyone wants to see some truly brilliant videos look in YouTube under City Of Liverpool FC or an account in the name of Paul Manning, our chairman. Look out especially for the sprinter and the cyclist.

Yeah the football played by all teams is attacking and to be honest the general standard of goalkeeping is quite poor. Leads to those stats you've quoted.

Another 1 nil win today in the play off semi-final against Whitchurch. Tight game but we kicked on second half and scored on the hour. Soon after we had a penalty saved otherwise we'd have had a comfortable last 15. As it was they only troubled us with a late penalty box scramble which came to nothing. The tie was one legged so we join Litherland REMYCA in the final at Litherland sports park next Saturday. Should be a very tight local derby. UTP

Cheers mate, we won 1 nil! A cup in our first season and it feels great. A tight game v Sandbach, but we were the better side, they never really troubled us. Got a sore head right now as the after match party went on into the night. I can't post links but anyone interested should look on YouTube/Twitter for some great videos at the game, you couldn't but be Impressed with the excitement of it all.

Played our final league game yesterday,a 2-1 win away at Bacup so we finish 4th and play 5th place Whitchurch at home next Saturday. Tomorrow is the first of 2 cup finals we've reached in our 1st season! Sandbach who do finished 6th are the opponents so it'll be a tight game. We're taking an amazing 900 fans to Runcorn for the game,I'll probably post the outcome on Tuesday as the fans' party is scheduled straight after.

Well we missed out on the top 2 last night after a 1-1 draw with Charnock Richard who get auto promotion instead of us. Excellent game, lots of talking points, debatable decisions, but in the end we ran out of steam against an incredibly fit and strong opponent. From 1-11 they were all built like rugby players. Anyway good news was we broke our attendance record again, 723 last night. Final league fixture this weekend away to Bacup Borough, we need a win to maintain our current 4th place to ensure a home tie in the playoffs. UTP

Big game at home tonight, we host Charnock Richard. They need a point to guarantee automatic promotion while we need a win to take the issue to the wire on Saturday. Big crowd expected, our last home game of a brilliant first league season. Apart from the significance of the result, should be a good game as we seek to avenge a 4-3 defeat at their place earlier in the season. UTP!

Back to winning ways in the league on Saturday with a 4-0 home win against Prestwich Heys. All goals were scored in the 2nd half, the visitors barely threatening. Next up is 2nd place Charnock Richard at home on Tuesday. This is a must win game for the purples, that is to keep alive our slim chances of automatic promotion. Charnock themselves were beaten at Widnes on Saturday in a game that was virtually a title decider. Another defeat on Tuesday would give Colfc a small window of opportunity to snatch 2nd place depending how results go in the final round of fixtures this coming weekend. Watch this space.

Happy to mate. Big few weeks to come. Playoffs and 2 cup finals.

A great night for the Purps tonight. Went away to Chadderton for the Macron Cup semi-final 2nd leg, two nil down from the home leg. Scored twice in the last 7 mins and took it to extra time. No further score in ET so it went to pens where we trailed after missing our first kick but won eventually as our keeper saved their final 2 and we no play Barnoldswick in May at Fleetwood's ground #UTP

Two bad performances over easter have more than likely cost us automatic promotion. Drew two all on Friday against St Helens at Prescot Cables. More memorable for the brilliant party afterwards where we drunk a 3 day beer festival dry on its first night. Try and catch some videos from Cables' clubhouse on YouTube. Today was a record gate in our league this season,692. We lost at home to Cheadle, 1-2. Very poor display by the purples. Onwards we go, a chance to get to a 2nd final in May and play ourselves back into form before the promotion playoffs.
-
Brilliant timing, a game and a piss up on Good Friday. Three points and it'll be a perfect day. Widnes and Charnock both went above us last night by winning their games in hand. They play each other soon though and we play Charnock at home, that'll be a very tough game. The only thing that's certain is that if we will all our remaining 5 games, we'll go up automatically, either in 1st or 2nd place.

He deserved it mate! He's the assistant manager, doesn't usually play and he ducked under a ball over the top even though he could see Scholes was gonna reach it. Bizarre decision. I wouldn't be slagging any of the regular players for a mistake but this was ridiculous honestly!

First defeat of 2017 last night, 0-2 at home against Chadderton in the Macron cup semi-final 1st leg. We put out a weakened team having played on Tuesday and with a huge league game Vs Alsager on Saturday, but it backfired and we may have lost the chance of a second final of the season. It was made worse by the 93rd minute mistake by our LB who let in Paul Scholars son Aaron who won the penalty which led to their second.
-
Update. A 6-1 win at home last night against Carlisle City. Teams above and below us also won, we remain second in the League. Sold our allocation of Reusch cup final tickets last night, and we play another semi final tomorrow in the Macron Cup, first leg against Chadderton. Beginning to feel like LFC in 2001!
-
It's only a ban on youth signings if it happens.
-
Update: we beat a poor Eccleshall team 4-0 at home last night in the first of 4 home games in 8 days. We also scored our 100th and 101st league goals in 35 games. Attendance was 418. We remain 2nd in the table.
-
Don't know if there are many purps on this forum so I'll provide an update. We're currently second in an incredibly tight table, any one of 6 clubs can win the title, never mind get automatic promotion by finishing second, or going up through the playoffs. We're in a cup semi final with a potential final against our landlords Bootle, and in another cup final to be played on May bank holiday Monday against Sandbach. Sadly the fixture list has thrown us a blank Saturday today, when our aspiration of 1000 fans at a home game might have been possible due to the weather and the international weekend. Anyone who wants to get down to one of our games will be impressed with the atmosphere, the ale and the football on show, and the next 6 weeks or so might even rival LFC's 2001 season climax!
-
Not sure how this proves anything at all about LFC fans. Seems a bit distasteful for someone to attempt to bask in some imagined reflected glory from it.
-
OK sorry we were firing on all cylinders at Norwich, my mistake.
