Xabi personifies "everything" I love with this club. He is mr Liverpool to me. A more intelligent footballer is hard to find. if he wants to leave, if his heart isn't in it anymore, then so be it. But he will be sorely missed. I quite enjoy watching him play. He's been loyal to the system, and I think that's part of the reason for his dip in performance( and injuries). He's asked to do a job where he can use his defensive skills, but few of his attacking skills. He f***ing scores from midfield! It's not that he scored that impressed me the most, but that he actually had the vision and nerve/guts to go for it. Legend. The two latest seasons he's been allowed to decide, from his deep position, which side of the field to attack from, ie he plays the ball out wide->he decides who will get the assist. His first two seasons he (more often) was further up the field and could make the assists himself. He had the ability to play trough-balls with clinical presision around their box. It worked with both Hamann and Stevie, now it's his defensive skills he uses most, and he has some competition in Masch, but it's room for both on the field. I just wish Rafa could see that :-)
