The last three seasons Aquilani has provided more assists than any of our players during the same period. I wish we had more players who were as s*** as him.

we should get our ex-players and staff to be very vocal while only giving off-the-record comments from current staff. That way we'd be able to deny any claims of us "dragging this up again".

And when they don't do anything about it, the only noise comin from our club will be *crickets chirping*. Instead of actually making some noise about inconsistancies and so on and so forth...

We need to stop beong so damn nice all the time. We should get our ex-players and managers to increase the pressure on both the mancs and the FA. We need to put pressure on the FA for two reasons; 1. to make sure a competitor of ours loses a key player for as long as possible (terry) 2. To make sure the FA thinks twice about trying to ban our players. We also need to attack the mancs to stop being presumed to always be on the defensive when it comes to them. But while doing this we should make sure not a word comes out from our current staff.

It did cause a bit of controversy but not as much as you'd expect. And there was still quite a number of people who thought 3 games was too much... IMO this is about an action causing a reaction. That the reaction was punished more than the initial provokation says a lot about Iceland... People from the club that got the heavier punishment didn't complain about the length of their players ban but they were very vocal about the fact that the other lad got banned for fewer games than theirs, and were quite right about that MO.

For calling someone something close to "f***ing n****r s***" the player got a three game ban. For the resulting assault the other player got 6 games... It's a hell of a lot more than just calling people names. And racism is quite common and very much in the open in Iceland. We just think it isn't so much of a problem because 1) there are very few non-european people living in Iceland and 2) no obvious anti-racism movement to highlight the racism that goes on here. IMHO.

IIRC the one who got a well deserved beating had to go to the emergency room to get a few cuts stitched up.

Agree with this. IMO there's no difference between financially doping a club and having the players of a club use performance enhancing drugs. Both should be punished severly.
