Earl Hafler

I think he's forgotten that he used to make challenges in those situations Milner and Hendo would've given him both barrells back then if he'd played like he did today

Hughes spent 450m on a flawed system in place for one season Several hundred million spent but not one midfielder, leaving us with just three that you'd want starting a league game

One good overlap in the first half where Gakpo played Kerkez through, got to the byline and....Isak was retreating to the edge of the area. We should be overloading in wide areas but the passing is laboured and Gakpo nearly always shoots.

Harry Kane is a superb striker but he wouldn't be getting his Bundesliga numbers or those he achieved at Spurs these days in the PL. He's afforded more time and space in Germany Wirtz isn't particularly quick and opts for an easy pass, whereas in Germany he used to turn and beat players, play a 1-2 Playing him behind this front three is a mistake

He's at fault for too many of our attacks breaking down and too many of the oppositions producing a scoring chance

It's a point but that was abject. I hope Richard Hughes gets kicked in the balls by an Arabian horse.

s*** all afternoon and then tried a left footer from 20 yards !

Extremely disappointing that, knowing they were lacking several key players who'd posed us problems in recent seasons, we failed to take advantage and play with discipline Frimpong, Kerkez, Isak, Szoboszlai, Wirtz... Lacking in composure, common sense, application, creativity.

Another stupid foul conceded.

Both fullbacks can walk home

Hahaha...how crap was that

We all know this ref is utter f***ing s***.

I thought subs could depart the pitch from any side ? Neville busting for Rio to be booked.

We'd finally got some possession going and then... Szoboszlai actually runs past the ball in midfield without making a tackle. He's jogging about in there now as Newcastle attack.

Szoboszlai you utter t***.

Get in

Gakpo shoots with Isak better positioned A front line of individuals

Gravenberch in possession - 4 red shirts across the pitch and all static. Looks like Iraola about to make changes

Frimpong lacks quality in possession. Szoboszlai and Gravenberch can't dominate a midfield - a two with that front line won't work consistently in this league.

Garbage. Poor application and we've too many players who can't win a 50/50 challenge. Would also help if we could make the first tackle / interception and not being forced to make challenges whilst running back to goal.

That's a foul ?!

That was worse than a few other yellow card tackles.

We need Araujo on for Frimpong at halftime

Szoboszlai with a five a side heel flick in midfield...

Same again - finally ball is just awful
