I get the point, most players are replaceable (and I think it might help Jurgen if we refresh more of the squad). However Alison and Trent, just don't see how you upgrade on those two. With the latter you could do something different in terms of how we set up, but just don't see how you adequately replace Alisson

Absolutely awful stuff. Hopefully stops people banging on about him wasting his talent. From the outside looking in it was clear there was something going on with him, but no idea it was anything this bad

It may not be a bad thing to move him on. Two years left on a hefty contract, which could easily be seen as not worth it by the end of the season if he is not contributing much. On pitch he fits the new midfield set up the least of the experienced midfielders. It's his leadership skills I fear we will miss, but maybe him going will create the space for others to step up into that gap?

I theory yes. In practice they both got injured in pre-season and that scuppered any chance of moving them on for fees

Indeed. Milner was fantastic for us, but we had no foresight on that and the 7 used to be our most iconic shirt and he wasn't exactly King Kenny. Really don't see any difference with Mount getting theirs (other than I hope he fails spectacularly of course)

He is massive and carries the ball up the pitch really well. Both things we were missing last season. No idea about his all round game, but I always rated mousa dembele and he has a similar skillset

Probably better suited than he was to the advanced position on the right side in the run in. He might even be Trent's cover, given that is going to be really hard for a normal right back to cover

Just read the French u21 manager say Thuram was only just back from injury and they put him in for as long as they could due to his importance to the team. Might explain a slightly subdued performance

I've never particularly liked arguments that are essentially 'they've brought it on themselves'. I think everyone could do with chilling out in their reactions and if you can't see that you are part of the problem
