Me too. And I didn’t start on the right. My earliest memory of active politics was canvassing with Tony Mulhearn (whom I really liked as a person) after he replaced Crawshaw as Labour candidate for Toxteth when the latter defected to the SDP in 1981. And I’m still way out there. Even when I have some time off this forum (21 years a member) I really appreciate it because I know I can come on here and mostly find people I reckon I would get on with even not talking about LFC. I hate to think what’s being said on some boards these days. But I don’t ever want to meet any of you because I think that would be the end of my liver.
Morning spent driving and I see there are four pages to catch up on. Two are on Bananarama and two on the moral suitability of players to represent LFC. Let’s hope Wirtz doesn’t turn out to auppprt AfD.
I would rather take a punt on some £10m striker who has knocked in a few in the championship. I don’t understand the tolerance some on here show for Nunez. He’s a mentality minnow who downed tools when it all became too much for him.
MEMO
To members of our ‘global fan base’
This means a length of time, a female bodily function, perhaps even a lesson at school. In no known galaxy does it mean FULL STOP.
And I used Trump capitals to prove it.
Out of curiosity I checked what Liverpool had won between Newcastle United’s glory days of 1969 (Fairs Cup/UEFA/Europa League) and spring 2025 (League Cup).
Div 1/Premier League: 12
FA Cup: 7
League Cup: 10
Uefa Cup: 3
European Cup/Champions’ League: 6
European Super Cup: 4
FIFA Club World Cup: 1
and the August charity kick-about 16 times.
I’m much too mature to sign up for a Newcastle message board to mention that to them. Much too. I am. Really. What’s their most popular one?
