  2. What a letdown... Well, at least it isnt Heskey.
  3. I am not laughing at that idea. It scares me. Really.

  5. Thats what I like about how Robben plays - he gets into the opposition's penalty box very quickly. Ronaldo has improved that aspect of his game a hell lot since he started in the premiership, doing stepovers at the halfway line really gets you nowhere. Gonzalez was suppose to be like that...
  6. I agree - on top of that, I cant see many clubs going after kewell especially since hes in the last year of his contract. I think people are thinking that this summer is the time to buy players for every position in our team that hasnt got a "world-class player". I cant see it happening - such things dont happen "overnight" in one summer, it takes a while. Its really how we gel together as a team and how play as one unit that is more important and I think thats how Rafa see his team. Getting superstars for every position in the team that is lacking one over one summer might be one method, but definitely not the only solution.
  7. That was on the cards when our club got sold, its inevitable. I think we will at least get a new striker though (besides Voronin), a guess nothing more
  8. Just saw the highlights, it was brief so it obviously isnt a good representation of how the match went. Zenden's and Fowler's goals were quite nice I thought, but it looked like Paletta lost his man in the few times they showed Blackburn attacking. He was too eager to get the ball and fell, resulting in the cross that lead to the goal. Padelli made a good save from the shot off that cross but couldnt do nothing about the rebound. Made a wayward crossfield pass at the start too.... He could have had a good game otherwise but the highlights certainly didnt paint him in a very good light.
  9. Sporting Lisbon starlet Nani is the subject of a transfer battle between England's top clubs, according to reports in Portugal. Heading the queue appears to be Tottenham who have reportedly been tracking the 20-year-old forward for a while. 'If a reasonable deal could be done, we'd take him for next season.' Manchester United have also been linked to the starlet, with their own Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly recommending Nani to boss Sir Alex Ferguson. His club, Sporting Lisbon, however, may not be so keen to let their prized asset leave, although he reportedly has a release clause in his current contract. A spokesman told Sky Sports News: 'The club that wants the kid have a price, £13.5million, only by this money would we be disposed to let Nani leave. 'We know of the interest of several English clubs for Nani, and that is normal because of his quality - but until this moment we have received no offer in writing.' http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...310&cc=5901 He was mentioned in the other forum...how good is this guy? EDITED by SUTTY: Lets not mentioned the f***ing rag, eh?
  10. My memory isnt too good, but didnt he burn past riise to set up smith's goal at anfield when we played leeds a couple of years ago? That was stuck in my mind for a while.
  11. That puzzles me abit really. I feel he has the ability to, but more often than not, he choses to pass it sideways/backwards or release the ball too early. Same goes for Gonzales.
  12. I thought someone said he was already running and looking lean.... oh well. I hope he comes back soon too.
  13. Nice, theres nothing like a customary dig at Pennant.
  14. I am in agreement with that. Unfortunately, in some instances, the opinion is "fantastic signing = does not require time to adjust"
  15. Changed it a little.
  16. think thats the main problem. and using carrick's fee as a benchmark, I think its more likely the bid needs to be in excess of 20mm.
  17. I think they are fantastic players - but for some reason, I cant see Lennon coming here.
  18. I would be very very surprised if we got a dedicated left winger, unless we sell one or even two of our left-sided players. Insua, Leto, Riise, Aurelio, Kewell, Gonzales, maybe Garcia - its really quite a handful. We are already going to be bedding Leto, Gonzales (again) and possibly Insua into that left hand side, I just dont think we should be bringing more players for the left. I will be over the moon if we got one excellent "ball carrier" type player and a superb striker.
  19. someone mentioned de rossi, but mexes is pretty fiery tempered too. i just hope he irritates rooney enough to get him sent off.
  20. So? Even if thats the case, its 4 attackers + 6 defenders = defensive-minded formation = playing for a draw = Rafa pleased with a point = Rafa wouldnt last 2 weeks at Real even if he went
  21. hes hyped up for good reasons and afterall, we are liverpool fans. Unfortunately, when you wrote "he will never score......some of us saw that from day one", it totally discredited your point of view. Unless of course, you are a seer, or a professional football scout, or better, both.
  22. Hmmm..hes one of the few guys who can actually nick a ball off robben running at full pace. You can say its the length of his legs but pace is definitely not one of his shortcomings.
