  1. Farewell Italy and Kroos on the same day Sign Owen Goles
  2. But also a fantastic keeper
  3. They never do. They just there to win
  4. Absolutely. It is just used here as an example to serve the point that he can play different roles and you could get more goals out of him if you played him closer to the goal. Obviously we don’t know if this is scalable to the Prem since Jurgen mostly used him further away from goal.
  5. Yes it does feel like it’s going to happen. Maybe we get a cash discount too if we pay it all upfront.
  6. Always special to see players retire. Tonight we are saying farewell to Kroos. All the best lad.
  7. I mean I can only speak for myself but I passed the ball much better and more precise before I started sprinting than I did after I completed a sprint or at the end of a sprint. My entire argument rests on his lack of numerical output being a direct result of him being deployed much further away from goal than say Mo fx is. But then again I’m certain his output is measured in other things than goals and assist. You’d think he would have been dropped at some point if the manager thought he lacked intelligence. It sounds like, and I’m guessing here, that what you actually want is a more goal focused left winger. For me this is a tactical decision and one I’m certain Lucho could accommodate if asked to do so. I just don’t think he’s been asked to do so under Klopp. His performances for Columbia, where other people do the work behind him kinda proves he has the skill and ability to play for goals. I think Diaz is the least of our problems at this point. But I miss Mane too. He really was special. That entire dynamic with him, Bobby and Mo was irresistible. Hard for anyone anywhere to replicate since very few people can do what Bobby did for his wingers.
  8. b******s is not recognizing the difference between asking someone to cover the entire flank, track back and carry the ball 60 yards OR asking someone to play to break the offside trap to get goals. Obviously the latter will be more productive goals and assists wise.
  9. I get that. I agree. You should always be open to upgrades. I just think we should give our better players a shot under the new coach before we ship them. No one asked Mane, Salah or Suarez to carry the ball like Lucho does. He’s basically been used as a winger while Mane and Salah were used as forwards. Suarez was an out and out striker. They were/are mainly focused on getting goals. It’s not a comparable situation for me.
  10. I think his “lack” of end product has everything to do with the amount of work he’s asked to do. Players rarely excel in build-up, carrying and scoring. You gotta pick. But asking him or anyone else to do everything is not a viable solution. Klopp clearly asked him to focus on build-up and carry duties. And I get that it can be frustrating when a counter doesn’t end up as a shot on goal but we are also interested in pinning teams down and setting up the press so while some will think, oh the move broke down, we can still take advantage of having moved all 20 outfielders 60 yards down to their goal all thanks to Lucho being able to carry and dribble at will. Pep always does this. One of his wingers will focus on getting goals while the other one will focus on carrying and dribbling.
  11. Exactly. Here I imagine Gordon would have even less of a return because we wouldn’t give him the luxury of playing on the shoulder of the last defender. He would have to take part in so many other things, things Lucho does so much better.
  12. Couldn’t disagree more. His lack of end product is direct result of the role he’s asked to play. Mane played a different role. He had Bobby dropping deep making space. Lucho is not there to score he’s there to keep it flowing. You could get more end product out of him simply by changing his role. He can play off the striker too but never has here. Makes no sense to me to replace him with someone inferior.
  13. On paper at least this sounds like a great idea.
  14. It really is time to let them do whatever they want while the rest of us join/form a new league. The football we knew and loved is gone.
  15. I really don’t see why we should get rid of Diaz. He’s a great player and just about to hit his peak. Yes he doesn’t score as much as people want but he’s also being asked to do so much more than focus on goals here. His job here is to carry the ball forward so everyone else can find a good position, and we can push up to establish the press. Like a wide playmaker. I’m sure he would have been more prolific if we asked him to play like Gordon does for Newcastle who by the looks of it plays like a wide striker. We have a great wide striker already in Mo. And there’s no way Gordon can move the ball like Lucho. So yeah: Who’s going to carry the ball forward if both wingers are basically wide strikers? I have no issue with signing Gordon but not at the cost of Lucho. Not for me at least.
  16. Idk I have adblock. I think he’s gonna have a great season here.
  17. Red Hot Darwin Does Bolivia https://streamin.me/v/79e36b12
  18. Southgate’s scouting report: 1) Just vibes The end
  19. I think Robbo’s a great asset. His role changed massively due to Trent inverting and us playing so narrow. If Arne wants an attacking fullback Robbo is the best there is.
  20. Yeah that’s true sorry. Feels like everyone’s here.
  21. There are more teams qualifying for the Euro’s than not qualifying. And there were more teams advancing from the GS than not advancing. Feels like UEFA just wants everyone to stay in play for as long as possible. I wond€r why?
  22. Lobotka will run them ragged. Let’s go Slovakia.
  23. Isak is great but 100 mil is wild. Game’s gone.
  24. 13 yellows in the Turkey game now
