  1. The comeback owed to us having a quick, sharp striker up fron who can finish and control a ball. Its the only weakness we now have, a consistently good finisher with pace. Wonder who we can get to fill that gap But overlooked is the fact that it was also when gerrard went into the middle that we finally got a grip on the midfield where sissoko and alonso got bossed in the first half and spent 25 mins watching hyppia and riise hoof it over their heads As mentioned in another thread pongolle currently looks a better player than ciisse, who truth be told has been very dissapointing this season, considering what he cost and the fact he was meant to be the finished artilce. But pongolle also looked out of his depth against Bolton I think we will get our centre back and winger this month and then all the piggy bank next summer will go on one player, a quick goalscorer. Then we will be more or less there IMHO
  2. Funny thing was, I was thinking at half time what was wrong with Alonso, it was as bad a half as I have seen him have at Liverpool and then he just steps up thirty gears and scores two wonder goals what a player
  3. We did not spent over the odds on Alonso an Crouch because they are good players who are key in a team that has won 10 and drew one of the last 11 league games conceding three goals and averaging nearly three goals a game scored. Ciise and Diouf are NOT good players and we paid a lot of money for them, Rafa wouldnt pay £16 million for Owen do you think he would of paid £14 million for Ciise ? What about £11 for Diouf ? It is not about being laid back about strengthening, it is about being a position where we do not need to allow ourselves to be ripped off we also dont need to panic buy cos we are currently the best team in the country anyway. Our start is the reason we are so far off chelsea, not the way we have been playing since the end of October. Liverpool managers decide what players they want and how much they should pay for them, that is the way it has always been that is the way it is now, as anny road said Rafa is no mug, he is canny when it comes to what he will spend. Liverpool have finally woken up and are no longer soft touches to chairmen hopefull of getting millions over the odds for players who are then given 10 year contracts We are canny now, our transfer business under rafa has been outstanding. So let them do their job, they will pay what a player is worth and no more, otherwise they will look elsewhere or wait. That is the way we are run now and it is working brilliantly
  4. People talking about Leeds etc are being silly In the last 12 months Everton have spent nearly double what Liverpool have, Liverpool made over £20 million alone from the champions league run last season We are currently a bloody well run club at a football level and I think the board have also learnt a lot from the Houllier era and we are now a lot better run off the field as well. If the players we really want are not available at the price we beleive is fair then either wait or look elsewhere, that is how we are being run now and that is a good thing. No more f'ckin £14 millions on Ciisse's. No more £11 millions on Dioufs. We are under no pressure, we are playing fantsatic football and we are european champions, we have no need to either pay over the odds or be forced to buy a player we dont really need. Over the last two months we have been the best team in England, we have played far better football than chelsea who have been sqeaking past teams every week. If the right player is not available at the right price, wait till the summer or go elsewhere. We are gonna win the champions league and the FA cup anyway
  5. In the first half today that was the biggest run around any team has given us, they battered us if the truth be told. I was very impressed with them, they were clever, pushed right up on riise and hyppia especially and made them hoof it every time they got the ball. First half was like watching us two years ago, defenders where awful in posession
  6. I noticed a v v large police presence their last night, more than normal. Mayve that helped stop any trouble, but I did not see one. The liverpool end went mad last nite in the first half, it was a great atmosphere
  7. The booing disappointed me, I could not understand that, probably had a bit to do with the interview he gave this week saying he was not gonna hold back on his celebrations if he scored I knew he would not get a great reception because there is never any sort of atmosphere at Boxing Day games, everyone is hung over and can not be bothered. But I do agree with the made his bed lie in comments from other posters on the thread. If it would of been a normal Saturday afternoon game or a evening game he would of got a much better reception at the start of the game IMO

  23. Lads your all sounding dead bitter Did we deserve to go on our final parade in 2001 cos we were jammy in winning the FA cup finbal when arsenal battered us and the ref didnt give them a certain pen Remember you show your true class when you lose, not when you win Well done to Sao Paulo and good luck to them
  24. Are we going with addidas cos they have bought reebok or is it just a commercial deal whereby Adiddas have presented us with a better offer than reebok
  25. Ahead of who ? Arsenal, Bolton or Spurs ? No f'ckin chance
