Of course it is. Its planting a seed of doubt in our strikers minds. Imagine a 50 50, bellamy , kuyt or crouch running at chech. Chech goes down (as keepers do all throughout a game which is what makes it differnt from an outfield player) what will the striker think? Will he pull out, or go for it thinking that he may injure or kill the goalkeeper? Do you think drogba would afford our seemingly healthy keeper the same compassion that our srikers will show a keeper with a headguard on to pretect his fragile head? Basicly, if hes fit, hes fit. He souldnt wear the headguard. And at the end of the day, as if a headguard with 1cm of foam is going to make a difference. Its a purley psycolgical thing.

I think we should refuse to play if chech is playing with the headguard. Its cheating plain and sinmple.

Dont rate buffon myself. Think hes been average the last few years. However if you are going on past form, then id have to have clemence at the top of my list ;P

We are a different team with momo and kewell back. Different type of players but just as important. Doubt kewell will be back but momo will, and hel boss that game.

Im not doing it to build up our manager. We had 5 or 6 at a push decent players. The rest of the squad where s***. Rafa has had to replace some of the awfull s*** we had and fill uut the squad. FFS its a testement to some of hte players that it took us 2 or 3 years to actually give them away in the case of cheyrou and dioa. If you compare the squad we had when he took over to any of the other top teams squads around europe, it was no wonder people fancied us to fall short in the group stages of the CL. Infact, change that to 6 or 7 as i thought biscan looked world class in his final season.

Same can be said for wenger. They dont play the best football in the league anymore, they did 2 years aog but man utd have that at the moment. Infact, arsenal play a defenseive game, sitting deep and hitting on the counter, the same game wenger used to critisise other teams for using. They rely too much on 1 player, and for the last 2 seasons have been distinctly average at best. They finished below us, won nothing, and i would bet on the same this year, but i would also bet that rafa recieves alot of critisism, yet wenger will as usuall be praised.

No no no no no.. Rafa fluked the european cup and at the same time Gerrard won it all on his own. Rafa fluked the meaningless FA cup (which gerrard won on his own) and Rafa only makes bad signings. He won the super cup , fluked it and then sold the striker who won it for him. The real team of last year where man utd who won the big one and chelsea who won the league with such limited resources. I thought you would know this by now! Dont you read the papers or watch/listen to tv and radio?

Dont get me wrong, he got it totally wrong in the league cup game and fa cup game mainly by playing dudek. However name me one manager in the league who hasnt gotten it wrong a few times? Did Fergie get it wrong when we beat them in the fa cup last year? Did jose get it wrong when drawing the last 3 or 4 league games? Did wenger get it wrong this year in the league , resulting in them being behind us?

I cannot think of another manager in football today who under the same circumstances would have done any better than rafa since he took over. For me he is still the best manager in the world, and the most important person at the club. As for those who are questioning his signings, why? . I know he hasnt signed ronaldinho or henry, but with the money available and the players needed hes done a good job. As good as or better than anyone else with a simlar budget. The money has had to be spread thinner becasuse of the amount of players we need. We where left with a right load of dross from the prevous regime , 1 or 2 world class players beside.

Exactly. IMO we have been beaten twice in 4 days by 2 very poor arsenal sides. Which is backed up by the league table.And the fact that they play the best football in the universe is the exact reason why they created a total of 11 shots in 2 games. Unfortunatly Man Utd are currently playing the best football in the premier league, by a long long way.

all the pundits basicly are saying that now we are out of the FA cup and the league cup that our season is over. They referd to todays game as our last chance of silverware for the season. I thought we where due to play the "mighty" barcelona in feb/march. I guess i got my dates wrong. What score did we get beat by Barca? And asi type this redknapp had the nerve to suggest that we might beat barcelona, which was met with histerical laughter from keys and merson.

Dudek is a joke, but the 2nd goal was never a foul for the freekick, and the 3rd was a handball and the 4th was offside. If descisions do even themselves out, then we are in for a whole host of them in this 2nd half.

Again, no one is saying he didnt play for it. A player has a right to play for it when a defender wildly comes flying in with there feet high and nowhere near the ball. And not just my view, but the view of hansen and shearer.

No you cant win, alan hansen and alan shearer both said he played for it and therefore in there eyes it was a pen. Xabi didnt move his legs towards the player, he went straight forwrd, what do you want him to do , move out of the way? Therfore the player not touching him and not fouling? Ill tell you what, next time someone tries to foul him when hes through on goal, xabi should just turn around and run towards his own goal.

I dont see your point. At the end of the day it was a foul, the guy was no where near the ball, and took xabis legs. Are you saying that deserves a booking? Whats next, bennet deserves a knighthood? And I agree with the point about the FA. If they had any balls they would have sacked the guy for incompetence and lies after last season. And as i said, we cant seem to play against cheats, We need a plan C which would involve playing cheats at there own game.

so what if he played for it, as shearer said, he has a right to play for it. If the defender is flying in with his feet up nowhere near the ball he is impeding a goal scoring opportunity. Too book him just adds insult to injury. Its not because we lost im saying this, but the guy is a cheat. If he had given that penalty, or the one with dirk it would have been a diferent gme. We might still have lost, but it would have been a totally different game.
