Just don't rate him that much.....he's got rubber ankles for a start....I wouldn't have put him in the £12M - £14M bracket anyway which was being talked about, so that would have seemed like really good business whether we are skint or not.

Not sure how i feel about this. I thought now would be a good time to cash in on Momo. He really does have to make big improvements in his game to be able to oust Mascherano/Alonso/Gerrard imo. Add to that Lucas and it does seem congested in that area of the squad. This could also mean Gerrard playing more on the right next season and doubts about the long term future of Mascherano. We'll see.

Or......they are trying to convince Torres to stay with some big signings.
